The Mahindra Thar 3-door has seen a slight sales slowdown thanks to the introduction of the larger Thar Roxx, which is essentially a 5-door version of the SUV. A good amount of customers who were awaiting deliveries of the Thar 3-door have been switching to the Thar Roxx, which has resulted a decrease in demand for the smaller model. In order to push sales during this festive season, Mahindra dealers are offering tempting discounts on the retro-styled off-roader. Along with dealer level discounts, all variants get a free Mahindra accessory kit worth Rs 25,000.

Mahindra Thar discounts during Dusshera, Diwali 2024
The Thar variant with the lowest amount of discounts is the AX diesel-manual 2WD with the Hardtop. Next up are the the Thar LX petrol-automatic 2WD with Hardtop and the LX diesel-manual 2WD with Hardtop, which get discounts in the range of Rs 1.25 lakh. Other variants in the Thar AX and LX line-up, including manual and automatic gearbox options, are available at discounts to the tune of Rs 1.3 lakh.
Mahindra Thar Earth edition gets Rs 1.6 lakh discount
The Thar Earth Edition comes with 4WD as standard and is available with petrol and diesel engine options, each with their respective manual or automatic transmissions. The Thar Earth Edition is finished in a special matte shade that the company calls ‘Desert Fury’, and also gets special ‘Earth Edition’ badges on the B-pillars and rear fenders. It gets a similar colour scheme on the inside, with the leatherette upholstery finished in dual-tone shades of beige and black. The desert-inspired theme contnies with line art that replicates the shape of dunes on the headrest. Dark chrome finish on elements such as the Mahindra logo on the steering wheel, cupholders, gear knob and gear console can also be seen.
Mahindra Thar 3-door waiting period, delivery schedule
At the moment the Thar 3-door is available with almost no waiting period at most outlets. Some high demand variants, like the Thar 2WD petrol and the entry-level 2WD LX diesel, have waiting periods of around one month at some locations.
