The BMW X5 and iX5 LWB are expected to retain the powertrains from their respective standard versions. There’s also a PHEV powertrain that pairs the 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine to an electric motor to produce a combined power output of up to 612hp and 800Nm. BMW says the iX5 LWB has a CLTC-certified range of over 1,000km and is likely to use the brand’s largest 141kWh battery pack with an 800V architecture. It could utilise the standard iX5’s dual-motor setup that churns out 578hp and 805Nm. Air suspension is standard on both SUVs.
