Hyundai Venue facelift could get N-line variant

Hyundai has been readying a mid-cycle update for the Venue and a second spy photo of the refreshed SUV has surfaced on the internet. This spy photo reveals newer details that point out towards a future Venue N-Line variant.

    • Mid-cycle update for the Venue to include front and rear styling changes
    • Expected to continue with same engine options
    • Will get more features than the outgoing model

Hyundai Venue facelift: what does the new spy photo reveal?

Contrary to the first sighting, the test mule in the new spy photo has less camouflage and shows more design details. While the overall body shell of the new Venue will remain more or less the same, Hyundai will give its compact SUV more design changes up front and at the back. The new spy photo confirms that the new Venue will have a major update to its rear, which will most likely include a full redesign to its tailgate, along with re-profiled tail-lamps and rear bumpers.

What's more, the spy shot also points at a future N-Line variant for the Venue, especially with bits lke a twin-tip exhaust and an alloy wheel design similar to N-line models from Hyundai.

The facelifted Venue will get a new angular tail-lamp design, which, like in the Creta, will be connected with a thin LED strip. The position of the number plate, however, remains at the same location. Up front, the new Venue will also get a reworked front end, replete with a new grille, reprofiled bumper and updated headlights, among other updates.

Hyundai Venue facelift: what else is known?

The Venue will also get cosmetic tweaks on the inside, with newer shades and textures for the seats and other materials. While we do not expect major change on the tech front, the Venue could get more features to stay competitive in the ever-growing compact SUV market, which will see rivals like the heavily updated, feature-laden Brezza.

Under the hood, we can expect the 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the 120hp, 1.0-litre turbocharged engine and the 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel to continue on the refreshed Venue. Gearbox options are also expected to be carried over, with the 1.2 petrol coming with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the 1.0 turbo-petrol and 1.5 diesel units getting a 6-speed manual. The turbo-petrol will also get the choice of an iMT clutchless manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT automatic.

Hyundai Venue facelift: rivals in India

The new Venue will continue to rival the same set of competitors as the outgoing model. These include the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the refreshed Maruti Brezza, which is due in the coming months.
