Honda has launched a new special Ace Edition of the Amaze compact sedan, with prices ranging from Rs 7.89 lakh for the petrol-manual and going up to Rs 9.72 lakh for the diesel-CVT variant. Based on the top VX trim, the Ace Edition can be had as a petrol-manual, petrol-CVT, diesel-manual or diesel-CVT; and also marks the second-gen compact sedan's achievement of 1 lakh unit sales.

The car reached this sales milestone in a span of 13 months and the manufacturer says that the Amaze is the fastest model in the brand's line-up to have achieved this.

With respect to styling, the Amaze Ace Edition features black-finished alloy wheels along with the addition of a boot-lid-mounted spoiler, door visors, trim bits on the doors and the Ace Edition badging on the boot lid.

Moving to the interior, the Ace Edition gets new black seat covers with the Ace Edition branding and footwell lighting.

Under the hood, the Amaze Ace Edition is available with the brand’s 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. Both units are available with either a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox option.

The Ace Edition is available in three exterior paint shades – Red, Silver and White. Production of the Amaze Ace Edition will be limited to 840 units.

The Ace Edition is Honda’s second special-edition model based on the Amaze, having previously launched the Amaze Exclusive Edition based on the sedan's top-spec manual petrol and diesel models.

The Honda Amaze rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Hyundai Xcent in the Indian market.
