The eighth-gen BMW 5 Series had launched in India just under a year ago, and it came with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, with optional 19-inch alloys. Now, BMW India has acted on feedback, and made the 19-inchers standard. Considering the latest-gen 5 Series was brought in long-wheelbase form, the 18-inch Y-spoke uniform grey alloys looked small on the 5,175mm-long sedan, something we had noted in our review.
At launch, the 5 Series got 18-inch alloys finished in grey. For now, the 5 Series is only available in 530Li petrol form – powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 258hp and 400Nm, along with a 48V mild-hybrid system that adds up to 11hp and 25Nm. Priced at Rs 74.4 lakh, the 5 Series directly takes on the Mercedes E-Class, which is the only other long-wheelbase sedan in the segment. Other rivals include the Audi A6, Volvo S90 and Lexus ES 300h.
