I am confused between the Honda Hornet 125 and the Hero Xtreme 125. My daily commute is 25-30 km, and my budget is ₹1.50 lakh. Please help me decide.

Both the bikes you are considering are some of the best machines in their class. So you're already starting from a very good point; therefore, here on out, it will depend on which bike fits you better as per your physique and has the features and look you prefer more.

The Honda CB125 Hornet has some unique features like the golden USD fork, a crisp TFT display and excellent fuel economy. However, it can feel a little tight for larger riders, so depending on your height, it may not be the best option for you.

The Hero Xtreme 125R is the only bike in the class to offer you dual-channel ABS on select variants. Also, it is a little more affordable than the Honda bike, so if those things matter to you, then this makes for a better purchase.

A test ride of both will help you decide which is better for you.

I want to buy a bike mainly for city use (around 90%). My budget is under ₹3 lakh. I am looking for a good-looking bike with a comfortable suspension. Please advise.

Within your budget, bikes like the TVS Ronin, Royal Enfield Hunter/Bullet/Classic, Triumph Speed 400, Harley-Davidson X440, as well as the Honda CB350 models, will make for a good fit in the neo-retro roadster segment. If you want something that's a little more rugged, then ADV bikes like the TVS Apache RTX 300, Hero Xpulse 210, and KTM 250 Adventure deserve your attention.
A test ride of all these should help you decide which is the best option for your usage as well as your physique.

Hi team, I'm 5′9″ and well built. I need a bike for my daily city commute of about 30 km, and I want it to be not above 350 cc. I am a sedate driver. Please suggest.

Since most of your usage is inside the city, bikes like the Hero Xpulse 210, Royal Enfield Bullet / Classic / Hunter 350, Honda CB350 trio and the TVS Ronin will make for good options to consider depending on your preference.

If you do want something a touch sportier but not very rambunctious, then the KTM 250 Duke also makes for a great companion.

A test ride of everything you decide to shortlist will help you make a decision.

I am 52 years old and have been riding a Glamour bike for 10 years. Now I want to upgrade my bike. Which bike is best for me within a budget of 2 lakh?

Depending on what sort of bike you want, there are many different options to choose from. If you want a sporty commuter, then bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 160 / 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160 / N250, Honda CB300F and the Suzuki Gixxer models will be good options to consider.

If you want a neo-retro bike, then bikes like the Royal Enfield Hunter / Bullet 350, Yamaha XSR155 and TVS Ronin will be the ones we recommend.

If you want an ADV, then the Hero Xpulse 200 / 210 will be bikes that deserve your attention.

Take a test ride of everything you shortlist before making a decision.

I want to exchange my 2018 HF Deluxe. I have shortlisted the Splendor Xtec Disc and the Glamour X. My running is approximately 1,000 km per month in the city. Please suggest which one I should buy. Thanks.

Since you haven't mentioned whether or not you want to step up from your current machine's performance ceiling and price bracket, it will be difficult to give you a clear-cut answer. The Hero MotoCorp Splendor Xtec (disc brake variant) will have many similarities to your HF Deluxe in terms of its performance, comfort, mileage, and overall riding experience. It is also going to be the more affordable option, but with a 100cc engine, its performance will be a clear step down from the Glamour.
On the other hand, the Hero MotoCorp Glamour X will be a far more feature-rich offering with better performance and will also feel like a more substantial bike. Of course, there will be some sacrifice in fuel economy, but that's the tradeoff with moving to a bigger machine.
If you value mileage above all else, then the Splendor is the better option, but if you want a bike that feels like a step up from your HF Deluxe, the Glamour X is the way to go.
You should also take a serious look at the Honda Shine 100 and Shine 125 models if you're shopping in this space. Take test rides of everything you shortlist before you decide.

Hi, I am an office goer planning to purchase a new bike in 2026 and want to upgrade from a 125 cc to a 150/160 cc bike. I commute about 60 km daily, with roughly 50% on decent roads and 50% on broken roads. Can you please suggest a bike in the 150/160 cc segment that offers both comfort and good mileage?

In the 150/160cc category, your best bets for a comfortable and fuel-efficient machine would range between the Honda Unicorn / SP160, Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Hero Xtreme 160R 4V

Depending on your physique, each bike will fit you differently. So, we would recommend a test ride of all bikes on both good and bad roads before you make a purchase.

My daily riding is around 30 km, and I want to replace my current scooter. I am considering the Xoom 125 and the Activa. Which one is better?

In the scooter segment, our top picks in the family-centric category are the TVS Jupiter 110 & 125, Suzuki Access, and the Honda Activa 110 & 125 models. If you want something flashier, then the TVS Ntorq 125/ 150 would be our recommendations, as they are peppy, sporty, feature-rich, and sharp-looking scooters that don't compromise on comfort or practicality.
The Hero MotoCorp Xoom 125 - while a great first attempt with its stylish design and 14-inch wheels - does feel a little cramped, and its engine lacks a little pep in comparison to the Ntorq.
A test ride will help you decide which scooter is the best fit for you.

I used to own a TVS Apache RTR 180 and want to upgrade to a higher capacity motorcycle. My budget is ₹2.5 Lakhs. I will mainly ride within the city, with very occasional long rides. I am 5'8" and looking for something that has good power( for city overtake) and mileage, as my daily commute is 50 km.

Since you are a TVS owner, there are a couple of products you can consider from the same manufacturer itself. The TVS Ronin and Apache RTR 310 will both be good options to step up to, although they will have very different riding experiences. The former will have a more relaxed, torque-rich riding experience, while the latter will have an engine that will reward you the more you rev it.
In a similiar vein, you can also consider the KTM 250 Duke, which will be an energetic machine that's reasonably fuel efficient too. If you're open to getting an ADV, bikes like the TVS Apache RTX 300 and Hero Xpulse 210 make for good options in your price range. Take a test ride of all before you decide.

Hi AC team, I am currently 17 years old and will turn 18 in April 2026. After April, I want to buy a new bike for myself. I have enquired about the Honda CB125 Hornet, Yamaha MT-15, NS160, and Hero Xtreme 125R. My first priority was Honda because I am currently riding my dad’s 2012 Honda Shine 125 (Optimax), and I also have a Yamaha FZ-S. I am 5′7″ tall and weigh 60 kg. My maximum budget will be ₹1.2–1.5 lakh. Please suggest a bike for everyday college riding with friends and weekend highway rides.

The Honda CB125 Hornet makes a good case for itself as your first bike with its lightweight, frugal engine and flashy style. You should also take a look at the Hero Xtreme 125R and TVS Raider because there are some areas where these bikes have an upper hand on the Honda.

Bigger bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Yamaha MT-15 will offer you more performance, albeit at the cost of fuel efficiency. They will also be a little heavier, but it won't be a big difference.

A test ride and a clear expectation of what you want from the bike will help you decide which bike is best for you.

Sir, I want to buy a new bike for my son. He is 6′1″ tall and weighs 90 kg. I want a bike with good safety features for his daily use of around 40 km. My budget is below ₹3 lakh. Please advise.

Since this will be his first bike, we recommend getting a bike with dual-channel ABS (at the very least) in terms of safety features. Keeping his physique in mind, bikes like the Hero Xpulse 200 / 210, Royal Enfield Bullet / Classic 350, TVS Ronin, Honda CB350 trio and Suzuki V-Strom SX will be good options to consider.

Do take him for test rides of all of these so he can decide which one fits him best.
