Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. has marked a significant milestone, completing 20 years of manufacturing operations in India. The subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation began its India journey in 2006.

  1. 20 years since start of production in India
  2. Sales have doubled over the past four years
  3. Crosses 10 million units in cumulative production

The company entered the Indian market with motorcycles like the Heat 125 and Zeus 125, before expanding into the scooter space with the Access 125, which went on to become one of its most successful products. Over time, Suzuki has broadened its portfolio to include scooters such as the Burgman Street and Avenis, along with motorcycles spanning commuter to performance segments, including the Gixxer range and premium offerings like the Hayabusa and V-Strom lineup.

Suzuki says that this steady expansion has translated into strong growth. The brand achieved its first million customers in 2012, crossed 5 million units in 2020, and has now surpassed the 10 million production milestone in 2026. The company also reports that its sales have doubled in the last four years.

Speaking on the occasion, managing director Kenichi Umeda said that the milestone reflects the trust of customers, dealer partners and suppliers. He emphasised Suzuki’s “By Your Side” philosophy, which focuses on delivering quality products and strong after-sales support while building long-term relationships across its ecosystem.

Looking ahead, Suzuki says they are preparing for the next phase of growth with a multi-pathway approach to future mobility. This includes its entry into electric mobility with the e-Access, the introduction of flex-fuel technology such as the Gixxer SF 250 FFV, and plans for a second manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda.

Backed by its parent company’s global legacy, Suzuki Motorcycle India’s Gurugram plant has also helped position India as an export hub, with locally manufactured two-wheelers now reaching 77 countries. As it enters its third decade, the company says it will continue to focus on evolving with India’s mobility needs while strengthening its manufacturing and product capabilities.
