Royal Enfield to assemble bikes in Argentina

Royal Enfield has set up a local assembly plant in Argentina. This facility will initially assemble three models - the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 starting this month.

The unit has been set up in partnership with Grupo Simpa, who is also Royal Enfield’s local distributor in the country since 2018. Alberto Fernández, the President of Argentina, was also present at the opening of the facility.

Argentina is said to be among the biggest mid-size motorcycle markets in Latin America. Royal Enfield has inaugurated five stores in the country so far. Overall, the company has 31 stores and 40 other retail touchpoints in all of Latin America.

Speaking about the announcement, Vinod K Dasari, CEO, Royal Enfield, said, “Over the last couple of years, we have grown our international presence significantly and now have a wide retail presence across 60 countries.”
