Vietnamese automaker Vinfast is all set to launch the VF MPV 7 in India on April 15, 2026. While this will be aimed at private buyers, there will also be a Limo Green version targeting fleet operators. With our first-drive review of the global-spec model of the VF MPV 7 already out, here’s what you can expect from this upcoming Vinfast electric MPV.

1. What to expect on the exterior of the Vinfast VF MPV 7?

A large physical footprint that manages to look proportionate as well

Vinfast VF MPV 7 side profile

One of the key aspects of the VF MPV 7 is its exterior dimensions. The global-spec model measures 4,740mm in length, 1,872mm in width and 1,734mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,840mm. These, along with the available 19-inch alloy wheels, are expected to remain unchanged for the India-spec VF MPV 7 as well. Some of the other design aspects include a chrome-garnished window line, black lower-body cladding and traditional pull-type door handles.

The front fascia of the global-spec VF MPV 7 sports vertically arranged LED headlamps integrated into the bumper and a large, centrally located air intake. The front and rear of this MPV get signature LED daytime running lights (DRLs), with the tail-lamps showcasing a wrap-around design. Rounding things off on the outside is an upright rear facade with faux vents in the bumper and a roof spoiler.

2. What to expect inside the Vinfast VF MPV 7?

This interior uses a minimalistic design theme seen in other Vinfast models too

The Vinfast VF MPV 7 will offer Indian buyers seating for up to 7 occupants across three rows. The global-spec model’s interior is primarily finished in black and looks relatively simple. However, Vinfast has used shiny pieces of trim along the front AC vents, on the steering wheel and some for the centre console area. The speaker grilles are finished in silver plastic, while leatherette is used on the armrests.

The minimalistic design of this interior is similar to what we have seen in the VF6 and VF7. While these two models have a part of their dashboard angled towards the driver, the VF MPV 7’s dashboard looks simpler and is flatter. With the large windows and theatre-style seating, the second row will be roomy with ample space on offer. These seats can also be folded 60:40, making it easy to access the third row – the availability of dedicated air vents for both should further boost occupant comfort.

3. What features are expected with the Vinfast VF MPV 7?

The equipment list of the model headed to India will likely mimic the global-spec car

One of the most notable features inside the global-spec Vinfast VF MPV 7 is its 10.1-inch touch-infotainment display, which is mounted above the centre air-con vents up front. Due to the lack of a dedicated instrument cluster, this screen not only integrates all of the VF MPV 7’s in-car features, it also carries vital information such as vehicle speed, drive modes, battery SoC (state of charge) and range. Sticking to this touchscreen, adjusting the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) will also require users to interact with it.

The India-spec VF MPV 7 is also expected to get an automatic climate control system, leatherette upholstery, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, and a manually dimming inner rearview mirror (IRVM). On the safety front, we expect the VF MPV 7 to get ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a reversing camera and multiple airbags as standard.

4. What powertrain will the Vinfast VF MPV 7 get in India?

Vinfast has claimed that the India-spec model will offer over 500km of range

Similar to its global-spec avatar, the India-spec VF MPV 7 is also expected to get a 60.13kWh battery pack, energising a front-mounted electric motor developing 204hp and 280Nm. Driving modes are likely to include Eco, Normal and Sport; three levels of regenerative braking is also expected. Our first-drive review also revealed a 0-100kph time of under 10 seconds.

Vinfast VF MPV 7 side tracking

The model sold in Vietnam has a claimed range of around 450km (NEDC cycle). On the other hand, the India-spec VF MPV 7 will be capable of over 500km, according to Vinfast. The battery pack of this MPV is capable of accepting up to 80kW DC fast charging, equating to 10-80 percent SoC in 30 minutes. The brand also claimed that, compared to the global-spec model, the one headed to our shores will feature different suspension tuning to better suit our road conditions.

4. What is the expected price of the Vinfast VF MPV 7 in India?

Pre-bookings for the VF MPV 7 were opened on April 2 at Rs 21,000, with the electric MPV likely to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. The primary rivals of the VF MPV 7 in India will include the Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 9S and BYD eMax7.
