Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv vs Mahindra BE 6 vs MG ZS EV

The Hyundai Creta Electric marks the carmaker's first foray into the Indian mass-market EV segment. Starting at an introductory price of Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Creta Electric goes up against competitors like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the recently launched Mahindra BE 6. We compared these four electric SUVs on paper to find out how well the Creta Electric fares against its rivals.

The Hyundai Creta Electric outshines the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV in terms of length, height, ground clearance, and wheelbase. However, the Mahindra BE 6 is the largest SUV here on most fronts, as it's 31mm longer, 117mm wider, and sits 7mm higher off the ground than the Creta Electric, but the Hyundai e-SUV is 28mm taller. The BE 6 also sets itself apart in this line-up by offering 19-inch and optional 20-inch wheels. As far as boot capacity goes, the Creta Electric has the smallest boot among the lot, falling 67 litres shy of the Tata Curvv's best-in-class boot space. It's worth noting, though, that the Creta Electric has a frunk that can accommodate an additional 22 litres of luggage.

The lower variants of the Creta Electric are a bit down on power compared to the rest, but the higher variants are more competitive in this regard. The BE 6, however, is in a league of its own in terms of oomph, with the Mahindra SUV developing at least 100Nm more torque than its rivals and close to 300hp in its higher variants, in addition to offering a much bigger battery and greater range. However, the Creta Electric scores a crucial victory when it comes to charging times, followed by the BE 6, then the Curvv EV, and finally the ZS EV, which takes the longest time to reach a full charge.

The pricing of the Creta Electric sits comfortably between its rivals. The Curvv EV is the most affordable SUV in this comparison, with the Creta Electric coming in a close second and the ZS in third. Thanks to its stronger powertrain and larger dimensions, the BE 6 commands a hefty premium over the others, reaching almost Rs 27 lakhs (ex-showroom). Although the Creta Electric may fall a bit short in the power department, Hyundai has priced the e-SUV attractively.
