MG has unveiled the Majestor as its new flagship SUV for India. While it is based on the Gloster and shares the same ladder-frame platform and diesel powertrain, the Majestor is positioned as a more premium and capable offering. Compared to the Gloster, it brings noticeable updates to the cabin, adds more comfort features and introduces serious off-road hardware.
Here’s a look at the key features the MG Majestor gets over the Gloster.
1. Larger digital displays

The Majestor gets upgraded screens inside the cabin. It gets a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster. In comparison, the Gloster features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen paired with a smaller 8-inch multi-information display, making the Majestor’s digital setup more expansive and modern.
2. Massaging front seats

While the Gloster offered ventilation and massage only for the driver’s seat, the Majestor adds ventilation and massage functions for both front seats. This upgrade is aimed at improving long-distance comfort, especially for buyers who spend a lot of time on highways.
3. Dual wireless phone chargers and upgraded audio

The Majestor adds a second wireless charging pad up front; the Gloster offered just one. This has been made possible by relocating the gear selector from the centre console to the steering column. It also gets a 12-speaker JBL sound system, which the company says offers improved sound quality over the setup in the Gloster.
4. Triple differential locks

The most significant mechanical upgrade over the Gloster is the addition of differential locks at the front, centre and rear. In comparison, the Gloster gets only an electro-mechanical rear differential lock and depends largely on electronic traction control. The Majestor’s triple-lock system is claimed to provide improved traction in low-grip conditions, aimed at enhancing its off-road capability.
5. Ten off-road drive modes

MG has expanded the Majestor’s terrain management system, and it now offers 10 off-road drive modes. In comparison, the Gloster offers seven driving modes. The added modes allow the Majestor to better tailor its systems for surfaces such as sand, mud and rocks, giving the driver finer control in difficult conditions.
6. Low-range transfer case

Unlike the Gloster, the Majestor comes equipped with a low-range transfer case. According to the company, this setup is designed to help the SUV better manage steep climbs, rocky surfaces and low-speed off-road driving. MG claims that the Majestor has a maximum water-wading capacity of up to 810mm.
7. Crawl mode (M-Crawl)

The Majestor adds a crawl function that manages throttle and braking at very low speeds, helping the driver tackle tough terrain more easily.
Bookings for the MG Majestor are currently open at Rs 41,000. Prices will be announced in April, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in May 2026. Once launched, the Majestor will replace the Gloster as MG’s flagship ICE SUV in India.
