The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is the more off-road-focused version of the Scrambler 400 X, featuring cross-spoke wheels and additional protection. It shares the same engine and chassis as the standard 400 X but adds equipment for improved off-road capability.

How much power and torque does the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC make?

The Scrambler 400 XC is powered by a 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 40hp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. It shares the same engine tune as the Speed 400, but runs a shorter final drive ratio via a smaller front sprocket.

How heavy is the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC?

The Scrambler 400 XC has a kerb weight of 186kg, making it 1kg heavier than the standard Scrambler 400 X. The additional weight comes from the cross-spoke wheels and extra protection. Despite the weight, the bike feels nimble and manageable, with a wide handlebar providing good leverage.

What are the main differences between the Scrambler 400 XC and the 400 X?

The key differences are in the cycle parts and accessories. The XC features tubeless cross-spoke wheels (19-inch front, 17-inch rear) instead of cast alloy wheels, a body-coloured flyscreen, a raised front fender, an aluminium sump guard, and lower engine protection bars. Mechanically, the XC is identical to the 400 X, sharing the same engine, chassis, and suspension setup with a USD fork and monoshock offering 150mm wheel travel at both ends.

What is the seat height of the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC?

The Scrambler 400 XC has a seat height of 835mm, which is 45mm taller than the Speed 400 and identical to the Scrambler 400 X. The tall seat height might pose challenges for shorter riders in stop-and-go traffic and while taking U-turns, but the commanding riding position and wide, raised handlebars offer good leverage.

How much does the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC cost?

The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is priced at Rs 2.97 lakh, which is Rs 27,000 more than the standard Scrambler 400 X. This also makes it the most expensive model in the company’s 400cc portfolio.
