The Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic continue to be among the carmaker’s most popular offerings in the Indian market, and the average waiting periods for these SUVs can extend up to three and a half months, depending on the variant. 

  1. Scorpio N Z8 Select variants’ waiting period is up to two and a half months
  2. Other Scorpio N trims have waiting periods of up to one and a half months
  3. Scorpio Classic’s waiting period is up to one month for both trims

Mahindra Scorpio N variant-wise waiting period

The entry-level Z2 (Rs 13.99 lakh-14.49 lakh) trim has a waiting period of up to one and a half months for both petrol-manual and diesel-manual configurations; it’s the same for the Z4 (Rs 15.77 lakh-18.35 lakh) and Z6 (Rs 17.25 lakh-18.91 lakh). Meanwhile, the Z8 Select (Rs 17.58 lakh-19.56 lakh), Z8 (Rs 19.16 lakh-23.53 lakh), and Z8 L (Rs 20.89 lakh-24.95 lakh) variants have a slightly higher waiting period of up to two months. The Carbon Editions based on the Z8 trims, however, are available a lot sooner, with a waiting period of just about a month. Lastly, all four-wheel-drive variants (Z4, Z8 and Z8L) have a waiting period of up to three and a half months – the maximum in the Scorpio N line-up.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic variant-wise waiting period

The waiting period details for the Scorpio Classic are quite straightforward, as it comes in only two trims – S and S11 – and both have a waiting period of up to one and a half months. The S trim costs Rs 13.76 lakh for the 7-seat configuration and Rs 14 lakh for the 9-seat layout. The S11 comes only as a 7-seater, which is priced at Rs 17.72 lakh.

Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic powertrain details

Both models utilise a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, albeit in different states of tune. In the Scorpio Classic, the unit produces 130hp and 300Nm of torque, whereas the Scorpio N outputs 175hp and up to 400Nm. The Scorpio Classic can only be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the Scorpio N also offers a 6-speed torque converter. There is also the option of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine on the Scorpio N; the unit develops 203hp and 370Nm and is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter transmission. The Scorpio N can also be had with a four-wheel-drive system with the diesel engine.
