Over the first half of this financial year (April-September 2026), motorcycle manufacturers in India dispatched 6.92 million (69.2 lakh) units, marking a 10 percent increase over the 6.27 million units sold in the same period last year. This makes it the second-best first half on record, behind the 7.37 million units recorded in H1 FY2019.

That figure was driven in large part by the 1.41 million units dispatched in September – the highest single-month total ever recorded. Every month in the half also crossed the one-million mark.
