Why the Camry is priced where it is:
- The base model, Elegant, and the top model, Elegant, use the same 2.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain with the e-CVT, so the Sprint Edition's sportier styling does not change the price.
- The fifth-generation hybrid system with a lithium-ion battery delivers 230PS and a tested average of 19.85kpl, and the hybrid battery carries an eight-year or 1,60,000km warranty.
- Both variants are fully loaded, with nine airbags, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a head-up display, a sunroof, a wireless charger and a 9-speaker JBL system.
- The rear seat adds electric recline, a power rear sunshade and an armrest touch panel, which is unique in this segment.
- The Camry is assembled at Toyota's Bidadi plant in Karnataka, and Autocar India describes it as the rational alternative to entry-level German sedans.
- The Sprint Edition's matte-black bonnet, roof, tailgate and alloys, body kit, spoiler, door warning lights and ambient lighting come at no extra cost.
The on-road price of the Toyota Camry can vary, depending on the state, RTO charges, and insurance. So, the on-road price of the same variant can differ from city to city.

Questions you may find useful
We have been using a 2019 Kia Seltos 1.4 DCT and are now planning to change our car. I am leaning towards a sedan, particularly the Volkswagen Virtus, for its performance, driving comfort and build quality. I have driven the Volkswagen Vento 1.0 TSI before, so I am familiar with the driving experience. However, the Virtus does not feel like a significant upgrade from our current car, especially because its interior seems dated compared with newer models. I have also considered the Toyota Camry, which looks beautiful and offers a more premium experience, but it is beyond our budget. We drive around 15,000km a year, with a mix of city commutes and highway trips. I want an engaging driving experience, good performance, comfortable long-distance cruising and a premium feel. A sedan is my first preference, but I am open to an SUV if it makes more sense. What would you recommend? Are there any cars that would feel like a genuine upgrade from the Seltos?
The Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 TSI DSG is worth considering if you want an engaging sedan with strong performance and good highway manners. However, since you already drive a Seltos 1.4 DCT, the Virtus may not feel like a substantial upgrade in cabin quality or features, even though it offers a different driving experience. The Toyota Camry would feel like a bigger step up in refinement and premiumness, but if it is beyond budget, stretching for it may not make sense. The Mahindra XUV 7XO is worth a serious look if you're open to an SUV. It will feel more like a genuine upgrade in cabin space, features, comfort and performance, with a more substantial family-car feel. It is enjoyable to drive, has good ride comfort, and if you do a lot of highway driving, you can also consider the diesel automatic, which is refined for a diesel and delivers strong performance.
Hi Dear Auto car team , I am OMKAR from Baner , Pune . On 28th June 2026 autocar team had answered my query regarding Toyota Camary . I want to share my further experience. Here’s my experience. I had done quite extensive research on Camary I had a few friends at the dealership I talked with them and they had a demo Camary for sale it was just 17 - 18 months old and had done around 27,000 Km . It was decently priced at around 37.5 lakhs and it was in Pearl White colour . I loved it . I took my family my mom , dad , wife and son on next Sunday to the dealership to see the car . The Camary was out for test drive the sales team told us to wait for about an hour or so till the Camary returns . In that one hour some other sales person offered to show us the Innova Hycross . My whole Family saw the car and they just loved it so much that we ended up booking the Hycross . My family didn’t even see the Camary , Such is the magic of Hycross . The dealership has tentatively told us the delivery will be by mid January. I will share the further experience also . Thanks autocar for your suggestion support and guidance. As always Deep Drive podcasts gets better and better.
I am confused between waiting for the Skoda Superb and going ahead with the purchase of the Toyota Camry. I am looking for an executive sedan that prioritises rear-seat comfort for my parents, who are senior citizens. Mercedes-Benz and BMW models are outside my budget. My last premium sedan was a Skoda Laura, before it was renamed the Skoda Octavia and eventually discontinued. This car will primarily be used for long-distance travel between two cities or towns. Should I wait for the Skoda Superb or go ahead with the Toyota Camry?
Go for the Toyota Camry. Your priorities are rear seat comfort for senior parents and long-distance reliability, and the Camry is the more sensible choice. The hybrid powertrain is smooth, quiet and efficient on highways, and Toyota’s reputation for reliability and service reach is a big advantage for long-term ownership. The rear seat is genuinely comfortable, with good legroom and a relaxed ride, which is exactly what you want for your parents on long journeys. The Skoda Superb is a fantastic car and arguably the better driver’s car, but your usage is rear seat comfort and reliability, not driving dynamics. The Skoda Superb will launch with a diesel engine, which would make it efficient, though we suspect the Camry might be more efficient still. It's also worth noting that Skoda has not confirmed a launch date as yet, so your wait could be longer than you'd like. Pricing remains a question mark too.
Which car would be more convenient among the ninth-generation Toyota Camry, Audi Q3, and BMW X1 LWB if I drive only around 50 km per week?
Go for the new-gen Audi Q3, which is launching soon. With your very minimal usage, the benefits of the Camry's strong hybrid system really won't pay any dividends, and as it is a much larger car with a lower ground clearance, it takes away the convenience factor you are looking for. As such, then, the two compact luxury SUVs are both great options that will suit your needs better. The X1 LWB is a better bet if you are chauffeur-driven, thanks to its immense rear-seat space. However, in most respects, the new Q3 will be the better bet, especially if you drive yourself. It gets a more powerful 2.0-litre engine rather than the BMW's 1.5, it has AWD, and Audi's latest tech. Plus, it's easy to drive and see out of, and Audi has cleverly chosen a smaller rim size for India to ensure that ride quality remains comfortable. Test drive the iX1 too, but overall, the Q3 seems like the better bet for your needs.
