MG Hector price in South Tripura

₹13.67 - ₹22.80 Lakh
On road price in
EMI starting at ₹19,790 /month

Before city-specific figures come into play, the MG Hector buyer faces an earlier decision: manual or automatic. The CVT commands a premium across every trim it is offered in, and that single choice shapes the rest of the budgeting exercise more than any accessory pack does. Once that call is made, the on-road number in South Tripura follows from adding RTO registration, insurance and other statutory levies to the ex-showroom price, a gap that shifts from city to city. Opting for the Petrol Style MT, priced at Rs. 11.99 lakh ex-showroom in South Tripura, brings the on-road figure to Rs. 13.67 lakh once those charges are folded in.

  • Base variant, Petrol Style MT: Rs. 13.67 lakh on-road in South Tripura
  • Plus Petrol Savvy Pro 7 seat CVT, the top model with adaptive cruise control, hands-free boot opening and third-row seating: Rs. 22.80 lakh on-road
  • Automatic (CVT) trims command a premium over the equivalent manual across the range, so weigh the convenience against the extra outlay
  • Best value pick: Smart Pro MT, which brings push-button start, onboard navigation, OTA updates and leatherette seats without stepping into automatic pricing

Choosing the Petrol Style MT on finance brings the EMI to Rs. 19,790 on a loan of Rs. 12,30,000, a figure worth keeping in mind before chasing a single feature up the trim ladder. Given how wide the spread runs between the base variant and the top variant, settle on a firm must-have list first and let that, rather than the on-road price in isolation, decide which trim gets booked in South Tripura.

MG Hector FAQs

The base variant of the MG Hector is priced higher than the equivalent Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, but its top-spec 5-seater variant with the CVT gearbox is more affordable than its Creta and Seltos counterparts.

With a 10 percent downpayment, 9 percent rate of interest and a 5-year loan tenure, the MG Hector’s base variant will have an EMI of Rs 26,571. These figures will vary based on your location and banking partner.

The MG Hector Shield Protect maintenance plan costs Rs 26,000, and can be bought within 10,000km or 12 months from the date of purchasing the car.

If you want one of the mid-spec variants of the MG Hector, then the prices are fairly comparable to those of close rivals.

I currently own a 2022 Kia Seltos that has covered 35,000 km. My wife and I are the primary occupants, and we usually take one or two road trips every six months, covering up to 300 km in a day on highways. We are both 66 years old. I plan to continue driving myself for the next five years, after which I expect to hire a chauffeur. I have been considering replacing the Seltos with the MG Hector Savvy CVT 6-seater. Given my usage and future plans, would it be better to make the change now or wait?

Based on your usage and priorities, there is no compelling reason to change your Kia Seltos right now. Your 2022 Seltos with 35,000 km is still relatively new and well within its prime ownership period. Since you and your wife are usually the only occupants, and your travel is limited to one or two highway trips every six months with a maximum of 300 km a day, moving to a larger 6-seater like the MG Hector Savvy CVT does not offer any meaningful advantage. While the Hector is a comfortable SUV, its larger dimensions and third row are unlikely to be fully utilised based on your current needs. The Seltos is already a comfortable and capable highway car, and it will continue to serve you well for the next five years until you transition to a chauffeur-driven setup. At that point, you can reassess your requirements and choose a more comfort-focused upgrade if needed. For now, keeping the Seltos is the more practical and sensible decision.

Hi, I have a 2019 BS4 diesel MG Hector. Is it allowed to be driven in Delhi, or has it been banned?

Verified
1w

Your 2019 BS4 diesel MG Hector is still allowed to be driven in Delhi, but there are a few important restrictions to keep in mind.Delhi enforces a 10-year age limit for diesel vehicles. This means your Hector can legally be used until 2029. After that, it will no longer be permitted to operate in the city, regardless of its condition or emissions compliance. There is no blanket ban on BS4 diesel vehicles specifically. The restriction is based on the vehicle's age, not whether it meets BS4 or BS6 norms. If you plan to keep this MG car for several more years, it's worth noting that its remaining legal life in Delhi is limited. As it gets closer to the 10-year mark, its resale value may also be affected. If you intend to sell the car or move it to another state before 2029, you can continue using it in Delhi without any issues for now.

Hi, I currently own a March 2023 MG Hector Sharp CVT Petrol, top-end variant. The car is performing well except for the mileage, which is as low as 5 kpl. Would it be a good idea to sell the car and buy a used Skoda Kodiaq? If yes, I would like to hear your recommendations. Currently, I am being offered only Rs. 13 lakh for my car.

Verified

The MG Hector petrol CVT is a comfortable and feature-rich SUV, but its fuel efficiency is a known weakness, especially in city driving. The MG Hector price starts at 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, switching to a used Skoda Kodiaq is unlikely to solve your mileage concerns that you faced with the MG car. The Kodiaq is a larger, heavier SUV with a 2.0 TSI turbo petrol engine, and while it is more powerful and engaging to drive, it is not significantly more fuel efficient in real-world conditions. In fact, depending on your driving style and usage, it could even be thirstier than the Hector. The bigger issue here is the financial hit. Rs. 13 lakh offer on a 2023 top-end Hector is a steep depreciation, and moving to a used Kodiaq will likely require a substantial additional outlay. Unless you are genuinely unhappy with the Hector beyond just fuel efficiency, it is not a financially sensible move.If mileage is your primary concern, the better approach is to adjust your expectations or driving habits, or consider a hybrid or diesel SUV in your next purchase cycle. The Hector remains a comfortable and well-equipped SUV, and it is worth holding on to unless there is a stronger reason to change.

I am planning to buy the MG Hector Smart Pro Manual. However, I am concerned because the MG Hector's monthly sales has been declining. Please advise me on choosing between the Hyundai Creta and the MG Hector.

Verified

Go for the MG Hector Smart Pro manual. The Hector remains a strong product with a spacious cabin, comfortable ride and a genuinely premium feel for the money. The recent sales decline is more a reflection of increased competition and the age of the product rather than any fundamental issue with the car itself. MG has also been consistent with updates and feature additions, which helps keep this MG car relevant. The MG Hector price starts at 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Hyundai Creta is the more modern product with a wider engine line-up and a stronger brand pull, but it is also significantly more expensive for a similarly equipped variant. The Hector offers better value for money, especially in the mid-spec variants, and remains a very comfortable and practical family SUV.The only real drawback with the Hector is that it is a larger car and not as easy to manoeuvre in tight city conditions as the Creta. If your usage is predominantly urban and parking is a concern, the Creta is the better choice. Otherwise, the Hector remains a solid buy and the sales numbers should not be a deterrent.

Hello. My budget is Rs 20 lakh, and I'm looking for a big, full-size petrol automatic SUV. The MG Hector and Tata Harrier are the two options I have explored, but I'd like to consider more options because making the decision has been difficult. My family enjoys long road trips, and we also occasionally drive on broken roads and light off-road trails.

Get the Tata Harrier. Since long trips and basic off-roading are on your agenda, it will perform much better than the MG Hector. On highways, its ride feels more composed, and it remains more stable at higher cruising speeds. Besides multiple drive modes, the Harrier also gets terrain modes for loose surfaces, which adjust the power delivery and braking to improve traction. Compared to the MG car, you will sacrifice some rear-seat space, but that doesn't mean the Harrier is uncomfortable. Overall, it is the better choice for your intended usage.
