MG Hector Hawk

The Hector Hawk is MG’s upcoming NEV (New Energy Vehicle), expected to be based on the Chinese Wuling Starlight 560 SUV. It is expected to be offered in both PHEV and EV avatars in India, and is based on MG’s ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. The MG Hector Hawk’s PHEV version is expected to rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, while the fully electric version could take on models like the Mahindra XEV 9S.

While India-specific powertrain details are yet to be revealed, the Hector Hawk’s PHEV version is expected with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 20.5kWh battery pack and an electric motor. This plug-in hybrid powertrain’s combined output is rated in select foreign markets at 195hp and 230Nm, while the vehicle’s pure-electric range stands at 125km – claimed overall range is over 1,000km. The fully electric version of the Hector Hawk could be equipped with a 69.2kWh battery pack, powering a front-mounted electric motor that generates 201hp and 310Nm. In its Wuling counterpart, this powertrain offers a CLTC-claimed range of 530km.
