The Bolero Neo is available in five variants: N4, N8, N10, N10 (O) and N11. All variants use the same 1.5-litre diesel engine and 5-speed manual gearbox. The price difference comes mainly from the features and equipment offered with each variant.
- N4: Covers the basics, such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, power steering, power windows, central locking and vinyl seats.
- N8: Adds fabric seats, remote key entry, the Bluetooth and USB music player with four speakers, steering-mounted audio controls, a foldable second row and a rear wiper and defogger.
- N10: Brings the 9-inch touchscreen, rear-view camera, cruise control, USB Type-C port, ISOFIX mounts, DRLs, fog lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels.
- N11: Adds 16-inch dark metallic grey alloys and Lunar Grey leatherette seats on top of the N10.
- N10 (O): Tops the range with the locking differential (Multi-Terrain Technology) on top of the N10's equipment.
The on-road price is the ex-showroom price plus registration charges, road tax, and insurance. These vary by state, so the on-road price of the same variant can differ from one city to another.

Questions you may find useful
I have Verna SX IVT 2023 model. Ivt and NA. Really smooth, no issues. However facing less economy in potholes filled roads near home, being automatic car usually drive in 1 gear rpm when going extremely slow and using daily in potholes filled roads gives too low mileage. Being sedan not confident to drive faster and being long car not easy to drive in narrow roads. Planning to to get a car to handle potholes easily and reliable car with God mileage. What is best, Mahindra Bolero neo or seltos diesel automatic, creta ev or carens ev in budget of 19 lakh.
I am looking to buy a car for my family of six. My daily city driving is around 20 km, and I take trips to the hills twice a year. I currently drive a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (2015 model) and am planning to upgrade within a budget of ₹10-12 lakh. I have shortlisted the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Kia Carens Clavis, and Mahindra Bolero Neo. Please suggest which would be the best option for my needs.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 suits your needs best because it is the easiest upgrade from a WagonR with a comfortable ride, light controls and low maintenance, making it ideal for your daily city use while still being practical enough for a family of six on occasional highway and hill trips. The Kia Carens Clavis, in comparison, is the better people mover with more space and a genuinely usable third row, along with stronger long-distance comfort, making it the better choice if you prioritise family travel and space over everything else, though it will feel slightly larger and less effortless in everyday driving. The Mahindra Bolero Neo, on the other hand, is tougher and better suited to rough terrain and hills, but it feels basic, less comfortable and not as family-friendly for regular use, and overall lacks the refinement of the other two . Do keep in mind that both the XL6 and the Clavis will stretch slightly beyond your budget on the road, depending on the variant you choose .
I am looking to buy a budget 7-seater car and really like the Mahindra Bolero Neo for its looks, mileage, and performance. However, I am concerned about potential DPF issues since my monthly running is only around 500 km, mostly in city conditions. Alternatively, I am considering whether I should opt for a 5-seater SUV like the Skoda Kushaq or Tata Nexon. My family size is six members (5 adults and 1 child), although we will only occasionally travel with all six occupants.
Mostly city use, only about 500km a month, and a family of six that sometimes travels together consider the Kia Carens Premium (O) petrol manual. It is compact enough to be usable in Pune city, and the petrol engine avoids DPF-related issues. The cabin is much more modern, the seats are comfortable, and even the third row is spacious enough for adults. Not to mention, it is a lot easier to get into than the side-facing seats on the Bolero. With your limited usage, a diesel doesn’t make much sense, and while the Mahindra Bolero Neo will feel tough on broken rural roads, in Pune, the Carens will be the more comfortable, practical and safer family car. It is slightly pricier than the Bolero Neo, and if it's too much of a stretch, then consider the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.Take a test drive with the family, get into the third row, and see if it feels comfortable.
I am interested in buying a Bolero Neo, but my running is very low - only about 100 km every 2 to 3 months. Is it viable to buy it, especially since my son also likes that car?
If you and your son like the Mahindra Bolero Neo, you can go ahead and buy it. It’s a solid car and will take the potholes and bad roads in Mumbai quite easily. It’s also quite easy to drive, but lacks the features and polish of other SUVs. However, with your limited running, you will need to do a short highway drive of around 25-30 minutes every month. This will keep regenerating your DPF, making it soot-free and preventing it from clogging.
We are a family of six, and I am looking to buy a 7-seater manual SUV under 16 lakh. I prefer a body-on-frame design. My shortlisted options are the Scorpio Classic, Bolero Neo, and Bolero. Among these, please suggest the better choice for balanced city and highway use.
Among the three options on your shortlist, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic is the best option. It's got the most powerful engine of the three, which you will particularly appreciate on highway drives. The Scorpio Classic S is the one that will fit your budget, but it comes with basic features. If you need more features, the Bolero Neo N10 packs in a fair bit.It must be highlighted that all three options you are considering have side-facing third row seats. These are not as safe as front-facing seats, and we'd strongly advise against this configuration. There isn't any body on frame alternative within your budget, but you should instead consider monocoque MPVs like the Kia Carens Clavis and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
