Land Rover Range Rover Electric
The Range Rover Electric is Land Rover’s first-ever EV-powered model. It will be the EV-powered counterpart to the ICE-powered Range Rover. The high-end luxury SUV is expected to launch by June 2026 with an expected price of Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom)
The model has been heavily tested by Land Rover in varying temperatures and conditions. It would likely look similar to its ICE-powered sibling, except in a few places, like the grille and is expected to get a WLTP range of 530km from its 118kWh battery pack.
The Range Rover Electric will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS, Lotus Eletre and the Cayenne Turbo Electric.

9.0
The Range Rover Electric looks virtually identical to its ICE siblings, retaining the same elegant design, slim headlights, familiar grille and clean tailgate. The only distinguishing detail is the ‘EV’ lettering on the wheel hubcaps. Built on JLR’s MLA platform, it retains the same cabin space, seating position and ground clearance as the ICE versions.
9.0
Despite the battery underneath, the Range Rover Electric retains a natural seating position, easy ingress and egress, and generous cabin space. Both standard and long-wheelbase versions will be offered, with the latter providing particularly expansive rear-seat room. The powered seats also get heating, ventilation and massage functions, along with JLR’s Body and Soul seating technology.
9.0
Equipment is largely identical to the ICE Range Rover, including a powered split tailgate, rear entertainment screens, four-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof. Highlights include the 13.1-inch touchscreen, 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster, cabin fragrance diffuser and air-quality monitoring. Signature Suite versions also get powered cupholders and a fold-out table.
10.0
The Range Rover Electric gets two motors producing a combined 550hp and 850Nm, with a 450hp version also available. Power delivery is smooth and well calibrated, enabling a 0-100kph time of 4.5 seconds while retaining the refinement expected of a Range Rover. Its electric powertrain also enhances off-road ability, with instant torque and a quick traction management system helping it tackle challenging terrain with minimal wheelspin. It retains a 900mm wading depth.
7.0
A 118.5kWh battery and 800V architecture support charging at up to 350kW, allowing a 10-80 percent charge in around 22 minutes. The claimed WLTP range is 600km, while real-world range is expected to be around 450-500km. However, range drops considerably when climbing hills or driving through slush, making charging access an important consideration during off-road trips.
8.0
The battery lowers the centre of gravity by 88mm compared with the ICE versions, helping reduce body roll and improve stability. Ground clearance stands at 201mm in standard mode and 262mm in off-road mode. Twin-valve dampers and twin-chamber air suspension deliver a plush ride, even over rough terrain, while the single-pedal driving mode offers smooth, progressive stops.
7.0
With prices expected to start at around Rs 3 crore, the Range Rover Electric will command a premium over the locally assembled ICE range, which starts at Rs 2.4 crore. Imported as a CBU, it will also face additional taxes. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2027, with a decision on local assembly dependent on customer interest.
Despite its high expected price, the electric Range Rover builds on the model’s strengths with greater refinement, improved ride and handling, and enhanced off-road capability. Its electric powertrain complements the Range Rover experience exceptionally well, making it a compelling choice for those seeking the most refined and capable version of the luxury SUV.
