Hyundai Venue price & variants

The Hyundai Venue is available in 9 trim levels, namely HX2, HX4, HX5, HX5+, HX6, HX6T, HX7, HX8, and HX10. The sportier Venue N Line, meanwhile, comes in N6 and N10 trims.

The Venue is sold with an 83hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5MT gearbox, a 116hp 1.5-litre diesel engine with 6MT and 6AT options, and a 120hp 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with 6MT and 7DCT options. Of these, the 1.2 petrol MT is available in the most number of trims, while the turbo-petrol and diesel powertrains are mostly evenly distributed across the range.

Here are the notable features of every Hyundai Venue trim:

HX2: 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, projector headlamps, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, 4.2-inch MID in instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electrically adjustable ORVMs, manual climate control, 4-speaker sound system. This trim has little in the way of bells and whistles, but still includes most essential safety and convenience features you need.

HX4: Rear defogger, rear camera, height-adjustable driver's seat, auto folding ORVMs, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The HX4 packs some more safety and convenience-enhancing features over the prior trim, but at a steep price increase. Powertrain choice is much more limited too.

HX5: Sunroof, cruise control (turbo-petrol and diesel only), push-button start/stop (petrol and turbo-petrol only), remote engine start (turbo-petrol only), front armrest (DCT and AT only). The HX5 trim ups the ante with a sunroof, a crowd-favourite feature, along with a broad spread of engine options and powertrain-specific features. Opting for the HX5 turbo-petrol DCT nets you all these goodies.

HX5+: Auto up/down powered driver window, rear wiper/washer, LED headlamps, rear window sunshade, wireless charging pad. Powertrain choice is limited in the HX5+, but if it aligns with what you were looking for, it's not that much pricier over the HX5 and is therefore the better pick.

HX6: Puddle lamps, 2-step reclining rear seat, 6-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, 60:40 split rear seats, rear armrest with cupholders, cooled glovebox. There isn't much to choose from in the HX6 trim when it comes to powertrains, and it's rather expensive. The HX6 does pack important comfort and convenience features, but it's worth spending a bit more for the HX8 instead.

HX6T: Automatic headlamps, over-the-air updates, connected car tech, built-in dashcam. The HX6 does not offer much over the HX6, and even misses out on some features, but is substantially cheaper as it's offered with the 1.2 petrol MT powertrain. If this is the one you're looking for, the HX6T is great value.

HX7: 16-inch alloy wheels, white ambient lighting (dashboard), LED positioning lamp, rear light bar, LED indicators. The HX7 trim is available in diesel MT guise only, and includes previous automatic-only features like 2-step rear seat recline, 60:40 folding seats, cruise control, rear armrest, and more. It's on the pricier side since it's a diesel variant, but should you be seeking one, the HX7 offers good bang for your buck.

HX8: Rear disc brakes (DCT/AT only), leatherette seats, 4-way powered driver's seat, ambient lighting on centre console (DCT/AT only), ventilated front seats, electronic parking brake with auto-hold (DCT/AT only). This trim amps up the feel-good factor of the cabin, and packs a crucial feature like seat ventilation too. Buying an automatic variant of the HX8 trim makes the most sense given how much is locked behind them.

HX10: Auto-dimming IRVM, front and side parking sensors, Level 2 ADAS, dual 12.3-inch displays, 8-speaker Bose sound system, voice commands for sunroof, idle stop and go (turbo-petrol only). Being the top-end trim, the HX10 expectedly gets all the premium accoutrements. However, it's also the only trim to offer useful safety kit like an auto-dimming IRVM and front and side parking sensors. The HX10 costs quite a lot more than the HX8 does, too.

Here are the notable features in every trim of the Venue N Line:

N6: Rear camera with sensors, rear defogger, 17-inch alloy wheels, N Line exterior badging, 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual climate control. The N6 is about as well-equipped as the mid variants of the standard Venue, but with distinct sporty touches. It can also be had with both MT and DCT options.

N10: Level 2 ADAS, automatic headlamps, sequential indicators, dual 12.3-inch displays, red ambient lighting, 4-way powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats. The N10 is matched in equipment levels with the standard Venue's HX10 trim, but the N Line cosmetic tweaks command a significant premium.

Exterior Design And Engineering

9

The new Venue sits on the global K1 platform shared with the Kia Syros. It’s more rigid and slightly larger – 30mm wider, 48mm taller, and with a 20mm longer wheelbase. The platform also makes it a software-defined vehicle capable of OTA updates for new features and fixes. Hyundai has nailed the proportions, avoiding the undertyred look some rivals suffer from, while giving the N Line a distinct identity. The front end borrows cues from the Creta, Exter and even the Palisade, while sharp creases, flared fenders and a new C-pillar quarter glass define the side. The standard car runs on 16-inch wheels, while the N Line gets striking 17s with red brake calipers. Overall, it’s an edgy design that stands out, even if it won’t appeal to everyone.

Features And Safety

9

The dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and digital driver’s display are larger than even the Creta’s and on par with the Syros. Powered by NVIDIA tech, the infotainment system is quick, responsive and has superb resolution – best seen in the 360-degree camera view. Features include ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, smart key with push-button start, an 8-speaker Bose system and a single-pane sunroof. The Venue also gains Hyundai’s SmartSense Level 2 ADAS, up from the earlier Level 1 setup. Safety kit is comprehensive, with six airbags, ABS, ESC, VSM and ISOFIX mounts standard from the HX2 trim. It hasn’t yet been crash-tested, but Hyundai expects a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, given the Kia Syros’ strong performance.

Interior Space And Comfort

8

The rear seat now offers more knee room thanks to the 20mm longer wheelbase and scooped-out front seat backs, though thigh support could be better. Shoulder room is slightly improved, but seating three abreast remains tight. Boot space has grown from 350 to 375 litres. Up front, the cabin feels cleaner and more modern, with a curved display neatly integrating the infotainment and digital instruments. A new steering wheel with four dots (Morse code for H) replaces the Hyundai logo, while automatic versions get a “coffee-table” centre console. Despite the hard plastics, quality and detailing impress. The dual-tone blue-and-white upholstery adds airiness, while the N Line gets an all-black interior with red accents and a sporty Ioniq 5 N–style steering wheel. Rivals like the Syros and Nexon offer more space, but the Venue’s design and finish stand out.

Mileage / Range And Efficiency

8

The ARAI mileage figure for the 1.2-litre petrol engine is 18.05kpl, while the turbo manual and DCT better that, delivering 18.74kpl and 20kpl respectively. The 1.5-litre diesel achieves 20.99kpl with the manual, however this drops significantly to 17.9kpl with the optional automatic.

Performance And Refinement

8

The base engine is a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol producing 83hp and 115Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual. Above that sits the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol with 120hp and 172Nm, offered with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. The diesel option is a 1.5-litre unit with 116hp and 250Nm, now available with a 6-speed torque converter auto alongside the manual. The turbo-petrol is the most engaging, with mild lag below 2,000rpm before strong mid-range punch. The N Line’s exhaust adds a sporty burble, while both transmissions suit the engine well. The DCT is mostly smooth, with only mild hesitation at crawling speeds. The diesel impresses with refinement – barely audible below 2,000rpm – but runs out of steam past 3,500rpm. The auto’s smoothness complements it, though initial throttle response feels a bit dull.

Ride Comfort And Handling

7

The new Venue is slightly more softly sprung than its predecessor with a noticeable improvement in low-speed bump absorption. However, the damping is still not totally sorted with an underlying firmness coming through. Come across a sudden pothole or even worse a series of them, and the Venue will thud through. The ride also felt a tad too busy on the rippled concrete highways of Goa. While the Venue’s ride is not inherently uncomfortable, rivals like the Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO do a better job of ironing out imperfections. The Venue N Line runs exactly the same setup as the regular car with only a slight firmness coming from the larger 17-inch wheels. All versions of the Venue steer almost exactly the same, with a direct but light and somewhat lifeless steering that never really weighs up at speed.

Value For Money

8

Despite the generation shift, it’s been priced keenly to start with – from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Move up the range though and prices climb sharply, reaching Rs 14.74 lakh for the turbo DCT, Rs 15.48 lakh for the top-spec N Line and Rs 15.69 lakh for the diesel automatic, putting it among the priciest in the segment, but it still represents solid value for what it offers. The design is edgy and modern with plenty of wow factor in N Line guise, while the tech-laden cabin looks and feels genuinely premium. It’s not perfect, but then nothing in this segment is.

Hi Autocar Team, I am confused between the Hyundai Venue HX5 Turbo MT and the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 TCMPFi. I am getting a good offer on the Venue. We have owned a Hyundai Grand i10 Nios for the last seven years without any issues. I like the XUV 3XO for its engine and the additional features it offers over the Venue. However, I also like the Venue because I am familiar with its driving experience and refinement. I plan to keep the new car for at least seven years, so I am looking for trouble-free ownership and a good service centre experience. My spouse prefers the rear-seat comfort of the 3XO, especially its under-thigh support and legroom, but dislikes its boot space. We also expect our family to grow in the coming years, so practicality is important. In terms of performance, I am not expecting a race car at this budget. I want a car with decent power that does not feel sluggish or make highway overtaking difficult. It should also offer reasonable mileage in city traffic and a comfortable ride for both front and rear passengers on city roads and highways. My usage will be around 60% city driving, along with a long drive of approximately 500 km every month. We have already considered other cars, and these two are our final choices. Could you please compare them in terms of ownership costs, maintenance, performance, comfort and reliability? It would also help if you could highlight any notable issues I might face with either car that could affect the driving experience or passenger comfort.

It seems like you're leaning towards the Mahindra XUV 3XO for its stronger engine performance, better feature set, and a nicer back seat experience. It is a genuinely well-rounded car, and its ride comfort and drive experience make it feel like a much larger, more expensive car. Also, between the two, the XUV 3XO is the much better car for the highway. As you've rightly pointed out, its boot space is lower on paper; however, the actual usable space is quite similar to the Venue's. So, if you like the XUV 3XO, go for it; it is a good buy.The Hyundai Venue HX5 Turbo MT might seem a bit more user-friendly with lighter controls, which make it easier to drive in the city. Moreover, you already have a positive ownership experience with Hyundai, and the Venue continues that formula with a refined turbo petrol engine and a well-built, more modern interior. It has enough performance for confident overtakes on the highway and remains reasonably efficient in city traffic. Between the two, though, the XUV 3XO gives you a big car feel, while the Venue is easier to drive in the city. For similar money, we'd pick the XUV 3XO; however, if you're getting the Venue at a substantially lower discounted price, it is a car you can't go wrong with.

Namaste Autocar Team, I am from Kolkata and am considering two cars within a budget of Rs. 15 lakh on-road: the Hyundai Venue HX7 diesel manual and the Kia Syros HTK+ (O) diesel manual. My monthly running is around 1,500-1,750 km, with a 90:10 split between city and highway driving. I mostly drive in the city, and my 2017 petrol Hyundai i20 is becoming expensive to run. Hence, I am considering a diesel car, although I am not interested in an EV at the moment. Which of these two cars would be a more practical and reliable choice for long-term ownership, considering a 10-year ownership period, service costs, comfort and mileage? I am tempted by the new Venue, but the Syros offers slightly more rear-seat and boot space, which is important for my family of four. I would appreciate your honest opinion and observations.

Verified
•3d

The Kia Syros HTK+O diesel manual is an excellent option. For your usage, a diesel car makes sense, and the Syros is the more practical long-term choice. Thanks to its boxy cabin and adjustable rear seats, it gives you the flexibility to free up more rear seat space for passengers or increase boot space. Its cabin experience also feels more premium than the Venue. The Syros and Venue share their 1.5 diesel powertrain, but do keep in mind that since your usage is mainly in the city, you will have to periodically drive the car at high engine speeds for 20-30 minutes to ensure the diesel particulate filter doesn't clog up.Hyundai has a wider service network than Kia, and its ownership costs are likely to be a bit lower, if not similar, to the Kia's. However, the cost difference is only going to be marginal. Overall, the Syros is a good family car, and if you like its design, it is a sensible choice.

I am looking for a diesel car priced around Rs 15-16 lakh with good fuel efficiency. I already own a Kia Sonet and a Hyundai Venue. What else should I consider?

Verified
•3d

Since you're already using the Sonet and Venue, you could consider the Mahindra XUV 3XO diesel this time around. It offers a strong diesel engine, respectable fuel efficiency, excellent ride comfort, and a more spacious cabin than the Sonet and Venue, making it a good family car.If you don't mind its looks, then the Kia Syros is an excellent car, and it's certainly worth considering. It has the same efficient, refined powertrain as the Venue and Sonet that you're using. Furthermore, cabin space is huge, and overall quality feels top-notch.

I’ve almost finalised the Hyundai Venue based on its interiors, space, features, and overall looks. However, I’m confused between the 1.0 Turbo MT and 1.2 NA MT. I live in a town where bumper-to-bumper traffic is very rare. We might encounter traffic occasionally when travelling to bigger cities, but we only go on long trips a few times a year. Considering my usage, which engine would be the better choice? 1. What is the real-world mileage difference between the 1.0 Turbo and 1.2 NA? 2. Is the turbo engine significantly more expensive to maintain in the long run? 3. Is the 1.2 NA engine sufficient for a family on highways, especially during overtaking and when driving with a full load? 4. Considering long-term reliability, running costs, and occasional highway trips, is it worth choosing the turbo, or would the 1.2 NA be a more sensible option? I’m really confused between these two variants. Please share your real-world mileage and long-term ownership experience. Your suggestions would really help me make a final decision. Thanks in advance!

Verified
•4d

Go for the Hyundai Venue 1.0 Turbo MT. Your usage pattern - mostly open roads with only occasional traffic and a few long trips a year - actually plays to the turbo’s strengths. The 1.0 turbo is a genuinely punchy engine with strong mid-range performance, which makes overtaking on highways far easier and more confidence-inspiring, especially with a full load. The 1.2 naturally aspirated engine is smooth and reliable, but it can feel underpowered on highways, particularly when overtaking or climbing with passengers and luggage. In terms of real-world mileage, the difference is not huge. In mixed conditions, you can expect a mileage of 12.80kpl with the 1.2 NA, whereas the 1.0 turbo could deliver around 12.50kpl in similar conditions, so overall fuel costs are broadly similar. Similarly, the difference in their maintenance costs will be marginal, with the turbo being only slightly higher.Long-term reliability is not a concern with either engine. The 1.2 NA is the simpler option, but the 1.0 turbo is a proven unit and well suited to your usage. Given your driving pattern and the occasional highway trips, the 1.0 turbo is the more sensible and enjoyable choice.

Is Maruti Suzuki Brezza better than the Venue?

Verified
•4d

The Venue's brighter and more welcoming cabin, and its light steering and smooth 5-speed manual gearbox (with the 1.2-litre petrol) make it a good city car. However, the Brezza's 1.0-litre turbo-petrol for similar money as the 1.2 NA petrol delivers stronger performance, well-suited for city and highway applications. Additionally, the Brezza's cabin is more spacious and its suspension more suited for bad roads. So while the Venue 1.2L is perfectly fine for the city, the Brezza 1.0 Turbo is a well-rounded option for similar money.
