Hyundai Creta Electric price & variants

The 2026 Hyundai Creta Electric is spread across nine trims: Executive, Executive Tech, Premium, Executive (O) LR, Excellence, Excellence Knight, Smart (O) LR, Excellence LR and Excellence LR Knight. Trims without the "LR" suffix get the 42kWh battery (420km range), while "LR" trims get the larger 51.4kWh pack (510km range). Every variant gets 6 airbags, ESC, hill-descent control and a rear camera as standard.

Executive: The base trim covers the essentials — a fully digital instrument cluster, satellite navigation, OTA updates and fabric seats.

Executive Tech: Adds a panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery and rear sunshades.

Premium: Brings adaptive cruise control, a voice-assisted sunroof, Bose sound system and an electrically adjustable driver's seat.

Executive (O) LR: The most affordable way into the bigger battery, with fabric seats, wireless charging and front-and-rear parking sensors.

Excellence: This is where Level 2 ADAS kicks in, along with high-beam assist, a panoramic sunroof and a digital key.

Excellence Knight / Excellence LR Knight: Blacked-out special editions that add traction control, a rear seat recline function and a video player on top of their respective base trims.

Excellence LR: The top "regular" trim, pairing the long-range battery with ADAS, V2L (vehicle-to-load) and the Bose system.

Exterior Design And Engineering

8.0

Even though it is based on the ICE version, the Electric variant sports distinct EV styling. Inspired by the Creta N Line and Ioniq 5, it features a pixelated closed grille with a centrally located charging port, active aero flaps, and 17-inch aero alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres. Silver accents and unique badging enhance its identity. While the design is modern and smart, the visible underfloor battery looks awkward from the side.

Interior Space And Comfort

9.0

The cabin closely resembles the ICE version but adds EV-specific upgrades. A new three-spoke steering wheel with Morse code-inspired detailing, redesigned controls, and a floating centre console modernise the cabin. A column-mounted drive selector frees up space, and new eco-friendly seat materials feel premium. Rear seat space is generous, though the slightly raised floor causes a knees-up seating posture. Features like cooled storage, ventilated seats, utility trays, and a boss seat function improve practicality and comfort.

Performance And Refinement

9.0

Available with 42kWh and 51.4kWh NMC battery packs, the Creta Electric delivers up to 171hp and 255Nm via a front-mounted motor. Power is smooth and linear, with brisk acceleration even in Eco mode. The 0–100kph sprint takes 8.2 seconds. Five regenerative braking levels, including a one-pedal drive mode, are intuitive and well-tuned. A mild synthetic motor sound adds character under hard acceleration.

Mileage / Range And Efficiency

9.0

ARAI-claimed range is 390km (42kWh) and 473km (51.4kWh). In real-world mixed driving, the Long Range version returned ~426km. Charging from 10–80% takes just 58 minutes with a 50kW DC charger, while full AC charging takes under 5 hours.

Ride Comfort And Handling

8.0

To manage the EV’s added weight, the suspension has been stiffened. The ride is firmer than the ICE version, especially at low speeds, but it remains controlled and planted. Steering is heavier, enhancing high-speed confidence, and body roll is well contained thanks to the low battery placement. Brake feel is excellent, with seamless transition between regen and friction braking.

Features And Safety

9.0

It inherits the ICE Creta’s rich feature list and adds more: electric seats, ADAS, rain-sensing wipers, and a new in-car payments system. Hyundai’s EV app enables easy access and payment at over 10,000 chargers. However, it misses wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and a middle rear headrest.

Value For Money

7.0

Priced between Rs 18–24.38 lakh, the Creta Electric is costlier than its ICE sibling but delivers excellent range, solid performance, and top-tier features. Despite some ergonomic quirks and missing tech, it’s a well-rounded EV that carries forward the Creta’s winning formula into the electric age.

Hyundai Creta Electric FAQs

Anyone who is considering to get a spacious and feature-loaded 5-seater EV, the Creta Electric is a good option. Performance is smooth, linear and reasonably quick. But what is even more impressive is its real-world range and reasonable charging times.

In our test conducted in August 2025, the 51.4kWh Creta Electric Long Range went up to 432km on a single charge, just 41km less than the then ARAI figure of 473km. However, its September 2025 update increased the claimed range from 473km to 510km, and this may also translate to a higher real-world range than before.

The 160hp Creta N Line is more powerful than the 42kWh Creta Electric, which has a 135hp electric motor. However, the 51.4kWh Creta Electric variants features a 171hp motor, making it the most powerful.

The seats are comfortable, just like the ICE Creta. At the back, the seating posture is slightly knees-up due to the placement of the battery pack, but it isn't uncomfortable.

Speaking of the Creta EV, storage capacity remains practical with the unchanged 433-litre boot, complete with a spare tire under the boot floor. A 22-litre frunk provides extra loading space.

Hello Autocar Team, I’m planning to buy an EV in November 2026. Please suggest one between the following options: Hyundai Creta Electric 51.2kWh Smart (O) and Tata Nexon EV Empowered Plus

Verified
•1w

There's a substantial price difference between the top-end variants of the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Nexon EV. But since you're comfortable with spending more for the Hyundai, we'd certainly recommend it over this Tata car. The Creta Electric is the more mature product, with a larger battery, a more spacious cabin and a more premium overall feel. Also, you're likely to get an additional 100km (or more) real-world range with the Creta Electric, and its DC fast charging capability is also better than the Tata's. Additionally, it also benefits from Hyundai's strong service network which is important for long-term ownership. We would also recommend you to consider a Kia Syros EV, that is a compact offering with a large battery, excellent cabin space, a posh interior, and is priced a bit more affordable than the Creta Electric.

I am confused between the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Tata Sierra EV. I am a little hesitant about the Sierra because of the glitches being reported, whereas the Creta Electric seems to have been relatively problem-free based on what I have heard so far. I also feel that the Creta Electric's motor is better refined, as the motor noise in the Sierra seems to creep into the cabin at speeds above 50kmph. Kindly advise me on which one would be the better choice.

Verified
•1d

If refinement is your priority, the Hyundai Creta Electric is the safer bet for you over the Tata Sierra EV. Since you've already noticed the Sierra's motor noise creeping into the cabin, that could become an everyday annoyance, particularly on highways. A test drive is worth more than a long list of features in this case. The Sierra EV has the advantage of a newer design and a spacious cabin, but your concerns about glitches are understandable. Early software issues don't necessarily mean the car is unreliable, though it's sensible to be cautious until there's a longer ownership record. The Creta Electric feels like the more familiar, predictable choice, with Hyundai's established service network working in its favour.

Hi Autocar Team, I own a Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara AT (non-hybrid) and spend around Rs. 12,000-14,000 per month on petrol. Its city mileage has dropped from around 13 kmpl to 10 kmpl. I also have solar panels at home, so EV charging would be almost free or cost a maximum of Rs. 3-4 per unit. I am confused about whether I should replace the Grand Vitara with an EV or keep it and buy a Tata Tiago EV for daily city use. Am I thinking too much about fuel savings? Should I simply keep the Grand Vitara and avoid buying a second car altogether? I would like to hear from people who have been in a similar situation. What makes more financial sense in the long run?

Verified
•3d

You are not overthinking it. With solar at home and a monthly fuel spend of Rs 12-14k, switching to an EV makes strong financial sense. The question is whether to replace the Grand Vitara or add a Tiago EV as a second car.If your usage is predominantly city-based, replacing the Grand Vitara with an EV is the better solution. You eliminate fuel costs almost entirely, simplify ownership and make full use of your solar setup. If you have the budget for it, EVs like the Kia Syros EV, Hyundai Creta Electric or Kia Carens Clavis EV are a good mix of price to range. Or if you can budget for it, move a step up to the Mahindra XEV 9S, Tata Sierra EV or MG Tomahawk EV.Adding a Tiago EV as a second car only makes sense if you have a genuine need for two cars. The Tiago EV is a great city runabout, but keeping the Grand Vitara just for occasional use while continuing to pay insurance, maintenance and depreciation does not make financial sense unless you regularly need a second car.If you are happy with the Grand Vitara and do not want to change cars, that is also a perfectly valid decision. But from a purely financial perspective, with your fuel spend and solar setup, switching to an electric car is the smarter long-term move.

I am based in Navi Mumbai and am planning to buy an electric SUV or MPV. My daily commute is around 25km, while I typically drive 200km on weekends. I currently own a 2017 Hyundai Creta 1.6 diesel manual and have test-driven the Hyundai Creta Electric, BYD eMax 7 and Kia Carens Clavis EV. With a budget of Rs 30 lakh, which 6-seater electric SUV or MPV would be suitable for long-term ownership? I am also concerned about BYD's after-sales service and would like to understand how it compares with the other options in terms of service support and long-term reliability.

Verified
•2w

Based on your usage pattern and concerns, the Kia Carens Clavis EV is the most sensible recommendation. Your daily running of 25 km is well within the comfort zone of any modern EV, and the 200 km weekend trips are easily manageable with a car that offers a realistic range of around 400 km. The Carens Clavis EV is a well-packaged 6-seater with a spacious and practical cabin, and Kia's strong service network gives you the peace of mind you are looking for over a long ownership period. The BYD eMax 7 is a very impressive product with a large battery and strong range, but your concern about after-sales service is valid. BYD's service network is still growing, and for a long-term ownership decision, that can be a significant factor. The Hyundai Creta Electric is a good product, but as a 5-seater it does not meet your requirement for a 6-seater family vehicle. The Carens Clavis EV strikes the right balance between range, practicality, comfort and ownership confidence, making it the best fit for your needs.

I am 59 years old and have been driving a Hyundai Xcent since 2014. It has covered 1,20,000 km, and I am due to retire at 60. Should I change my car now, and what car should I consider for two people, with monthly highway and hill trips covering Ooty, Mysuru and Bengaluru? I have a monthly running of around 1,500 km. Should I consider an EV, and if so, which one would suit my needs?

Verified
•2w

After 12 years and 1.2 lakh km with the Xcent, this is a good point to replace the car, particularly with retirement approaching. For around 1,500km a month and regular Bengaluru, Mysuru and Ooty runs, an electric car makes sense if home charging is available. The Creta Electric Long Range is the best fit because it combines a comfortable cabin, good ride quality, easy automatic driving and enough range for regular highway trips. In testing, the 51.4kWh version has delivered around 406km of real world range, while Hyundai covers the battery for eight years or 1.6 lakh km.The Hyundai Creta Electric is also well suited to hill driving because of the instant torque and smooth power delivery. Its ride is slightly firmer than the petrol Creta but remains comfortable, while the stable highway manners are a plus for longer journeys. The only consideration with an EV is charging availability on longer hill trips, so home charging is essential.
