Volkswagen and Ford have joined the list of carmakers that have extended service support to flood-affected cars. Mercedes was the first to reach out to its customers and was shortly followed by Hyundai.

Volkswagen is offering free roadside assistance to customers from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, under which affected cars would be transported free of cost to the nearest Volkswagen service centre. The company will also provide affected customers with suitable discounts on the service repair bill. Apart from that, Volkswagen is also offering 3M interior GermKleen treatments at discounted rates, as well as a free AC disinfection service.

Ford will be offering special discounts on repairs for damage caused by water logging. The service centres will remain operational for extended hours to help get affected cars back on the road at the earliest. Engine oil replacement on flood-affected cars will be carried out free of cost. Moreover, Ford is also offering a 50 percent discount on underbody antirust coating. Ford will also absorb 50 percent of a customers’ liability on auto part replacement for which they have claimed insurance. Additionally, surveyors from insurance companies have been placed at the service centres to process insurance claims at the earliest.

As mentioned earlier, Mercedes was one of the first ones to extend service support that includes special discounts on spares, a waiver on towing charges and faster processing of insurance claims. Click here to read more.
