Spy shots of a Vinfast Limo Green being driven in India have surfaced online. While covered in camouflage, this is the first time the new Vietnamese EV has been caught undergoing real-world tests on our roads. Unveiled alongside another new but smaller EV in January 2025, the Limo Green is the brand’s first, purpose-built electric MPV.

  2. Spy shots reveal a sizeable infotainment screen and third-row seats
  3. 60.13kWh battery has a claimed NEDC range of 450km

Despite the camouflage covering much of its exterior, it is quite evident from the photos that the Vinfast Limo Green has a sizeable footprint. The Vietnam-spec model is 4,740mm long, 1,872mm wide and 1,728mm high, with a 2,840mm wheelbase. For perspective, the BYD eMax 7 sold in India is 30mm shorter and 62mm narrower. It is also shorter in height, and its wheelbase is 40mm smaller.

Some of the other visible design details include front LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), black lower-body cladding, gloss-black door pillar trim, a rear spoiler and the aptly named Limo Green colour peeking through the camo. The squared-off rear is broken up by what appears to be a connected LED element with wrap-around edges. This is clearly visible in the Vietnam-spec model, where we can also see the integrated (but possibly fake) vents in the rear bumper.

The test mule appears to feature a dual-tone wheel design, which is likely the 18-inch rims that are standard fitment on the Limo Green in Vietnam. Vinfast could keep these same wheels if it brings the car to India.

The Vinfast Limo Green’s interior appears to feature a relatively flat dashboard and tablet-style touch-infotainment unit in the middle. In the production model, this 10.1-inch screen is located right above the centre AC vents and should be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The spy shots also reveal headrests right at the back, which all but confirms the third row of seats. Vinfast is likely to retain this seating configuration for India.

The amount of space on offer remains to be seen, but it could be roomier than the BYD eMax 7. Some of the expected equipment includes automatic climate control, selectable drive modes, surround-view cameras, multiple airbags and electronic safety features.

The Vinfast Limo Green has a 60.13kWh battery pack with a claimed NEDC range of 450km in Vietnam. It energises a single electric motor that is mounted on the front axle, generating 201hp and 280Nm of torque. The Limo Green’s battery accepts 11kW AC and 80kW DC fast-charging, with the latter taking 30 minutes to go from 10 percent to 70 percent SoC.

Vinfast Limo Green expected India debut and rivals

The Vietnamese brand already has the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs in its Indian portfolio. The new Vinfast Limo Green should rival the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7. These have a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively.
