Innova Crysta Hycross waiting period

The Toyota Innova Hycross and the Innova Crysta have been plagued by lengthy waiting periods for quite a while now with the petrol, hybrid and diesel models enjoying healthy demand. This forced Toyota to also halt bookings temporarily on the more popular variants. As of February 2024, the Innova Crysta's waiting period has reduced, while the Hycross' has increased.

The hybrid powertrain on the Innova Hycross hybrid is available in four trims – VX, VX(O), ZX and ZX(O). Toyota had stopped taking orders for the top-spec hybrid variants earlier last year, and bookings for the ZX and ZX(O) trims are yet to reopen. Meanwhile, waiting period for the VX and VX(O) trims now extend up to 12-13 months, depending on the location, which is actually an increase of 2-3 months since late last year.

The petrol-powered Hycross – available in G and GX trims – has a much lower waiting period of about 5-6 months on average, and that has remained unchanged from late last year. The Innova Hycross gets a 172hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 184hp, 2.0-litre strong hybrid. Both are only offered with an automatic transmission – a CVT gearbox for the petrol and an e-Drive transmission for the strong hybrid.

The Innova Crysta comes with a single 150hp, 343Nm, 2.4-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox; it's available in four trims. Waiting period for the Innova Crysta is up to seven months currently. The Crysta's waiting period, therefore, reduces to seven months from nine at the end of 2023.

Toyota had temporarily paused despatches of the Innova Crysta in January due to irregularities in the diesel engine's horsepower certification testing, however, they resumed despatches earlier this month.
