The next-generation Jeep Compass has been confirmed for a global debut in Europe by mid-2025. The next-generation Compass was first teased in October 2024, and this latest release shows us some new design details of the upcoming SUV. The new Compass will be underpinned by the STLA Medium platform and will be produced in Melfi, Italy.

Next-gen Jeep Compass new design details
Draws design cues from Grand Cherokee
The first teaser of the Compass had already given us a preview of the boxy, upright silhouette of the next-generation SUV. Now, we have gotten a look at the lighting elements of the new Compass, which seem inspired by the larger Grand Cherokee SUV. The headlamps look like a simple, rectangular LED unit that has foregone the slight kink seen in the current Compass’ headlamps. The grille also gets its own lighting elements and has a blanked-off look. At the rear, there’s a two-part LED signature for the tail-lamps, and it wraps over to the rear fender as well.

The previous teaser showing the SUV’s profile also hinted at a tapering window line, chunky cladding over the wheel arches and a flat bonnet line. Jeep, however, hasn’t offered any glimpse at the new Compass’ interior.
Next-gen Jeep Compass platform and powertrain details
Will get both hybrid and electric powertrains
As mentioned, the next-generation Jeep Compass will be underpinned by the STLA Medium platform, which it will share with the next-generation Citroen C5 Aircross; we recently reported about the leaked patent images of the latter, showing the production-spec design.
Although specific details aren’t out yet, Jeep has confirmed that the Compass will come with mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrain options. Select variants will also be available with an all-wheel-drive system.

Next-gen Jeep Compass India launch plans
As we have reported previously, the next-gen Compass will not come to India. Sources tell us that the new STLA Medium platform failed to meet the commercial viability for the Indian market, forcing Stellantis to cancel it. Given that the existing Compass sells in just three digits on a monthly basis, the involved expense did not justify the expected volumes.
The new Compass will debut in Europe, with production beginning in Melfi, Italy, in 2025 before expanding to North America and other parts of the world in 2026.
