In the third round of teaser campaigns leading up to the Independence Day event, Mahindra has now given us a look at the rear of the upcoming Vision X concept. Four new Mahindra concept SUVs, along with a new platform vision, will be showcased on August 15, and this one is expected to add to the XUV family.

- Could be a new derivative of the XEV 9e coupe-SUV
Mahindra Vision X new design details
This new rear teaser gives us a glimpse of what could be a full-width LED tail-lamp arrangement, which appears quite similar to that of the XEV 9e. We can also spot a sculpted tailgate and flared rear haunches, although it does not seem to have as rugged an appeal as the Vision T and Vision SXT that were teased before. There’s also a housing for the registration plate on the bumper and what looks like reflectors towards the edge.
The previous Mahindra Vision X teasers gave us a top-angle and side view of the upcoming concept. It has some very stylish and athletic lines on the bonnet and a stepped design for the face with the headlamps mounted on the bumper. The Vision X also gets wheel-arch cladding and what looks like aero-optimised alloy wheels.
We expect this concept to preview a new model in the XUV family. In fact, this could be the long-awaited XEV 7e, which will be a more traditional SUV alternative to the XEV 9e coupe-SUV, or it could also be another derivative of the XEV 9e.
Not many details are available about the Vision X at the moment, but we expect it to be underpinned by Mahindra’s new ‘nu’ platform, which will be compatible with ICE as well as electrified powertrains. We’ll know more about the SUV once it debuts on August 15 alongside three other concepts. Stay tuned.
