The 2026 Tata Punch EV has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP), scoring 31.09/32 and 45/49 points, respectively. This is the second time Bharat NCAP has tested the Punch EV. Interestingly, the AOP score has slipped marginally since it was last tested in 2024, although the COP score remains unchanged. For reference, the pre-facelift Punch EV had scored 31.46/32 in AOP and 45/49 in COP.

2026 Tata Punch EV adult occupant score explained
The report noted that the protection offered to the head and neck regions of the driver and passenger was good. However, protection for the driver’s chest and knee area and the co-passenger’s knee was adequate. The 2026 Punch EV secured 15.28 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test. In the side movable deformable barrier test, it received 15.80 out of 16, offering good protection overall. In the side pole impact test, it was rated OK. The Punch EV also complied with ESC test requirements.
2026 Tata Punch EV child occupant score explained
In the child occupant protection test, the Punch EV secured 45 out of 49 points. It got full points in the dynamic test (24/24) and CRS installation test (12/12) and scored 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment test. Both the 18-month-old and the 3-year-old child dummies were tested in rearward-facing child seats positioned in the front passenger seat, secured by Isofix anchorages and a support leg.
2026 Tata Punch EV tested variant and safety features
Bharat NCAP tested the Adventure 40 and Empowered+ 40 variants of the Punch EV, but the rating applies to the entire line-up. As standard, the Punch EV comes equipped with six airbags, Isofix mounts for rear outboard seats, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and ESC. It also complies with AIS-100 pedestrian protection norms.
