To give you a quick refresher, even though it looks similar to its predecessor with its boxy silhouette and other familiar touches, this is an all-new version of the G-Wagen. It adopts a more robust body shell and a widened ladder-frame chassis. Ground clearance is up to 241mm, and the new G 63 also gets heavily redesigned suspension.

The cabin features a newly designed dashboard with Mercedes-Benz’s Widescreen Cockpit that comes with digital instruments in combination with two 12.3-inch displays as standard. There is also significantly more shoulder room and legroom than before.

Powering the new G 63 is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol motor produces 585hp and 850Nm of torque. It's mated to a new AMG Speedshift TCT 9G 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Mercedes-AMG claims the G 63 can go from 0-100kph in just 4.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically capped at 220kph – or 240kph with the AMG Driver's package specified.
