The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has become something of a cult favourite in India amongst outdoorsy lifestyle buyers. Armed with its flatbed, rugged looks, old-school 4x4 and just enough creature comforts, it's a great alternative to a big SUV. For 2019, it's been given a facelift with more equipment, but more crucially, a new 1.9 diesel with an auto gearbox.

If you thought MG's first offering, the Hector, was a big statement, you should see its second one. This is the MG ZS EV, or eZS as it's called in some markets, and as the name suggests, it's an all-electric SUV. It will be a direct rival to the Hyundai Kona when it goes on sale, and it has a few tricks up its sleeve that might give it an advantage.

Datsun's maiden offerings, the Go and Go Plus may have had a lukewarm debut back in 2014, but the Japanse brand has been updating them to be more modern and desirable over the years. The latest effort is the introduction of an automatic gearbox, and as an added feather in its cap, this is a CVT, not an AMT as its rivals offer.
