    Maruti Suzuki XL6 price, variants explained

    One of the few new car launches from Maruti Suzuki this year, the XL6 has arrived with a starting price of Rs 9.80 lakh. The six-seater may be based on Maruti’s Ertiga but it is positioned above the MPV and will retail from the brand’s premium Nexa dealerships. This explains the about Rs 70,000 premium you have to pay for the XL6 for the equivalent variant of the Ertiga.

    As we had reported previously, the Maruti XL6 is powered by the K15B petrol engine that comes with a mild-hybrid system. This 1.5-litre four-cylinder motor makes 105hp and 138Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox option (the same as in the Ertiga and Ciaz).

    Based on Maruti’s Nexa nomenclature for variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – the XL6 comes in the two higher-spec ones. Here’s a list of all the features, engines and gearboxes that are on offer with each variant:
