Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch of the Nexa Music initiative. This unique initiative has been formed to provide aspiring Indian musicians with a platform to create original, global standard music.

Budding musicians from across India can participate in the initiative and get a chance to be mentored by established musicians like A R Rahman and Clinton Cerejo. The Nexa Music initiative will start off with the launch of four original tracks sung by acclaimed artists A R Rahman, Anushka Manchanda, Nikhil D’Souza and Uday Benegal.

For the selection process, participants will be required to share their original unreleased music composition on the Nexa Music website. A jury comprising of A R Rahman and Clinton Cerejo will then shortlist 24 entrants who will then undergo a mentorship programme at the Nexa Music Lab to further hone their music skills.

Speaking about the initiative, R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “We are glad to announce this refreshing new initiative, “Nexa Music”, to create original international music and discover aspiring musicians. The launch of Nexa Music opens new horizons for musicians.”

Concerning the brand's association with the Rahman through this initiative he said, “It is a matter of great honour to be associated with global music icon A R Rahman – the man who has earned prestigious international recognition.”

On the occasion A R Rahman said, “Nexa and my company Qyuki share a common goal. We want to provide independent artists creating original English music a real opportunity to be discovered and promoted on a global stage. With Nexa Music any deserving artist stands a chance to collaborate with some of the best bands in the industry to produce music that reaches audiences across the world.”

The four best contestants out of the selected 24 will be further shortlisted and given an opportunity to be mentored by celebrity mentors and create four additional tracks. Furthermore, the four shortlisted candidates will also get a chance to do 12 live events with their mentors across India.
