Mahindra Scorpio N waiting period

Mahindra recently announced a ramp up in production and deliveries, which has led to a reduction in the order backlog. And while the duo of the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N have the highest number of open bookings at over 1 lakh units combined as of January 2024, their waiting periods have come down a fair bit from a couple of months ago.

As you can see in the table below, the maximum waiting period for the Scorpio N is up to six months for the lower variants, while it's about four months on average for the mid-spec variants. That’s considerably down from six to eight months waiting that the mid-spec variants were seeing in November 2023. But it’s the top-spec variants that see the maximum drop in waiting period – it’s now just two or three months on average, down from a maximum of eight months in November 2023.

The Mahindra Scorpio N gets a choice of two engines, a 203hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 175hp, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. There is a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission on offer for both engines, however, only the diesel engines get the option of 4WD. Prices for the Scorpio N range from Rs 13.60 lakh-24.54 lakh, ex-showroom.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic waiting period

The Scorpio Classic, meanwhile, has a waiting period of up to three months for the base variant, and up to five months for the top-spec S11 variant. This, however, hasn’t changed much since November last year when it had about four months waiting on average.

The Scorpio Classic is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 132hp and 300Nm. Paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the SUV misses out on an automatic gearbox and the 4x4 option that's available on the Scorpio N. Prices for the Scorpio Classic range between Rs 13.59 lakh-17.35 lakh, ex-showroom.

At its recent earnings call, Mahindra revealed that the duo of Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N are among its most popular models, receiving about 16,000 bookings per month combined, more than even the XUV700 and Thar.
