Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs collectively amassed 30,179 bookings, which opened on Friday. The split between the XEV 9e and BE 6 is 56 percent and 44 percent, respectively. Notably, the Pack Three top model with a 79kWh battery pack was the most booked across the two electric vehicles.

Considering that about 1 lakh EVs were sold in 2024, Mahindra’s record day 1 bookings are impressive. Bookings for the BE 6 and XEV 9e are open across select Mahindra dealerships nationwide and on the official website. It should be noted that production capacity is capped at 5,000 units a month, and the same will be delivered in the six months from March to August.

The BE 6 comes in two states of tune – the 59kWh variants make 231hp, while the 79kWh variants produce 286hp; torque is rated at 380Nm for both battery packs, and they come in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) guise only. The larger BYD-sourced battery pack has an ARAI-claimed range of 682km, while the smaller battery pack promises a range of 556km.

The XEV 9e Pack One, Pack Two and Pack Three Select variants all use a similar 59kWh battery, which powers a 231hp and 380Nm rear axle-mounted motor with an MIDC range of 542km on a single charge. The claimed charging time is 8.7 hours on a 7.2kW AC charger, 6 hours on an 11.2kW AC charger and 20 minutes on a 140kW DC fast charger.

The Mahindra XEV 9e Pack Three top model comes with a larger 79kWh battery that powers a 286hp and 380Nm rear motor and is said to go 656km on one charge. Mahindra claims charging times of 11.7 hours (7.2kW AC charger), 8 hours (11.2kW AC charger) and 20 minutes (175kW DC fast charger).
