Mahindra XEV 9e price variants explained

While the Mahindra XEV 9e’s complete price list was revealed in February, the brand has recently added a new option to the Tata Harrier EV rival’s line-up. The all-electric SUV is available with two battery pack options and four variants. So without further ado, let’s take a look at which battery option, features, safety equipment and other bits are exclusive to each XEV 9e variant.

One must note that none of the prices mentioned include the charger’s cost or its installation charges. Buyers have to shell out an additional Rs 50,000 for a 7.2kW AC charger or Rs 75,000 for a 11.2kW AC charger, plus an installation fee for both.

All five variants are available in seven colours. Mahindra calls these exterior shades Everest White, Tango Red, Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, Desert Myst, Deep Forest and Ruby Velvet.

Mahindra XEV 9e variant-wise battery, range and charging

The Pack One, Pack Two and Pack Three Select variants all use a 59kWh battery that powers a 231hp, 380Nm rear axle-mounted motor, which has an MIDC range of 542km. These versions have a claimed charging time of 8.7 hours on a 7.2kW AC charger, 6 hours on a 11.2kW AC charger and 20 minutes on a 140kW DC fast charger.

The top-spec XEV 9e Pack Three and the mid-spec Pack Two also get the larger 79kWh battery that powers a 286hp, 380Nm rear motor with a range of 656km. Mahindra claims charging times of 11.7 hours (7.2kW AC charger), 8 hours (11.2kW AC charger), and 20 minutes (175kW DC fast charger).

The large Mahindra born-electric SUV seems to offer quite a few premium features in its top-spec trim, with even the lower-spec versions coming across as well-equipped. Besides the Tata Harrier EV, the Mahindra XEV 9e’s price range also sees it take on the BYD Atto 3 (Rs 24.99 lakh-33.99 lakh).
