Lexus has released a teaser that previews a new large SUV, ahead of the concept’s official unveiling at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in January 2018. Called the LF-1 Limitless, the SUV concept features a raked rear window and a coupé-like roofline.

The teaser shows two screens at the rear on the inside, suggesting a two-row seating layout. Besides this, the preview reveals a two-piece roof spoiler and an extended rear tail-lamp. The SUV’s styling seems to be a departure from Lexus’ current design language which uses lots of angles and lines for a sharp and divisive look. The LF-1 Limitless concept appears to be softer and more rounded than any of the models in Lexus’ current line-up.

Described as a flagship model by the brand, the production-spec model will sit above the RX L that was recently showcased at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show and will rival the upcoming Audi Q8.

Designed by a California-based team, the designers claim that the SUV will “redefine the boundaries of luxury”. This indicates that the LF-1 Limitless will be considerably more high-end than the current offerings from the brand.
