BYD Seal EV receives 200 bookings

This comes a week after the bookings for the Seal EV were opened.

BYD’s third product for India, the Seal EV was launched yesterday, with prices starting at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom). The Chinese brand has now revealed that it has received 200 bookings for the electric sedan.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, senior vice president of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said, “We are overwhelmed by the incredible response from customers in India. This demonstrates the growing appetite for luxurious and high-performance electric vehicles in India."

BYD Seal variants 

The sedan is offered in three variants: Dynamic, Premium and Performance. The Performance variant gets an all-wheel-drive setup that puts out 530hp and allows the EV to sprint from 0-100kph in merely 3.8 seconds. Tap here to read our variant breakdown.

BYD Seal booking

Bookings for the BYD Seal commenced in the last week of February. The electric sedan can be booked for a token amount of Rs 1.25 lakh, however, the company has not specified when deliveries for the EV are scheduled to begin. The company is offering early adopters complementary benefits like a 7kW home charger with installation, a 3kW portable charger and 6 years of roadside assistance if booked within this month. The Seal comes with an 8 year/1,60,000km warranty on the battery and an 8 year/1,50,000km warranty on the motor and motor controller unit.
