The Audi Q2 is all set to become the brand’s most affordable model in India. Bookings for the smallest Q model are underway already (with the booking amount set at Rs. 2 lakh), and we now know the Audi Q2 will be launched in India on October 16, 2020.

    • To be powered by a 190hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol
    • Won’t have any direct rivals in our market

Audi Q2 India details: A recap

Set to be Audi’s fifth new model launch for India in 2020, the Q2 has no direct rivals in India as it’s half a size smaller than the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the second-generation of which isn’t on sale in India yet, and the BMW X1.

Based on the VW Group’s MQB platform, the Q2 is the smallest offering in the Q range and measures 4,191mm in length, 1,794mm in width, 1,508mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,601mm. While the facelifted Q2 was revealed abroad recently, it’s the pre-facelift model, which has been on sale internationally for a few years now – that’s coming to India.

The Audi Q2’s features list for India will include leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, sunroof, ambient lighting, LED headlights and a reverse camera, among others.

Audi has previously confirmed the Q2 will get a 190hp, 320Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Quattro all-wheel-drive will be standard.

Expected Audi Q2 price in India

Despite being Audi’s new entry-level model, the Q2, which will be imported into India in CBU form, will cost a substantial amount of money. Expect Audi Q2 prices in India to start at around the Rs 35 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
