The German carmaker has launched the new Volkswagen Ameo Corporate edition in India. Priced at Rs 6.69 lakh for the petrol and Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) for the diesel, the Ameo Corporate edition costs Rs 1.16 lakh and Rs 1.11 lakh less than the equivalent Highline Plus trims that they are based on.
The Ameo corporate edition is a special offer for corporate and business customers. Being based on the Highline Plus trim, the Ameo corporate edition gets features like dual airbags with ABS and EBD, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors with camera, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility, automatic climate control and cruise control.
The Ameo corporate edition is only available in petrol-manual and diesel-manual configurations. The petrol engine is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder unit that produces 76hp and 95Nm of torque while the diesel unit is a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder motor that pushes out 110hp and 250Nm of torque. Both engines send power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Recently, Volkswagen also introduced a special “Black and White” edition of the Polo, Ameo and Vento models which came with interior and exterior upgrades. In terms of competition, the Volkswagen Ameo takes on the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Hyundai Xcent and the Ford Aspire in the compact sedan space.
