Hi Autocar, I'm looking to upgrade my 10-year-old Classic 350. I'm stuck between the Triumph Speed T4 and the new Scram 440. My daily commute is around 50 km, with the first half in city traffic and the rest on the highway. My main concerns are a comfortable ride and hassle-free maintenance. Both Triumph and RE showrooms are available in my city. Also, can you suggest any other bike in the same price range that offers comfort and reliability?
Between the two options you have shortlisted, we would steer you toward the Triumph Speed T4 because it is a more approachable and lighter machine inside the city and also has peppier performance.
You can also look at the Honda CB350 models because they are comfortable, reasonably fuel efficient and shouldn't be too expensive to maintain.

I own a Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twin Spark (2011) — it’s been very comfortable for my mostly city riding (under 200 km/week), but it’s now nearing the end of its life. Should I modify and re-register this bike for more comfort, or buy a newer model that offers medium seating height, strong road presence, and excellent comfort for daily urban commutes and occasional longer rides? Please suggest models under ₹2 lakh.
We'd suggest that you look at a newer bike, primarily due to ethanol-blended fuels that are likely to cause problems with older motorcycles, even if they have been refurbished. We suggest you look within the Royal Enfield family itself at options like the Meteor 350, Classic 350, or Bullet 350 to meet the requirements that you have highlighted

I want to upgrade from my CBZ Extreme (2012). I’m 6'2", 70 kg. My daily commute is 20 km, and I do occasional weekend trips with my wife. I’m looking for an adventure bike with decent mileage and better pillion comfort. My budget is ₹2.5 lakh. You can also suggest cruiser options.
For your usage, in the cruiser space, you can take a look at the Royal Enfield Classic / Bullet 350 as well as any of the three Honda CB350 models. All bikes have relaxed, smooth engines, spacious seats and great suspension comfort.
In the ADV space, options like the TVS Apache RTX 300 and KTM 250 Adventure can be considered for their punchy - but not overwhelming - performance, spacious seats and comfortable ride quality, as well as luggage carrying capability.

I’ve been riding an Avenger Street 220 for the past seven years. I’m now looking to upgrade to something more powerful with better suspension for rough roads. My daily ride is at least 50 km, and occasionally I ride up to 150 km a day. I’m considering the TVS Apache RTX 300 and the Honda CB350. Please advise.
The Honda CB350 models are comfortable motorcycles with plush suspension and a neutral rider’s triangle, so any of them would be a safe choice. You can also consider the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 or Classic 350, as both offer an upright riding position, great suspension, and comfort.
Coming to the TVS Apache RTX 300, this bike will be the most comfortable among all the suggested options because of its format. It will also pack in better performance than the air-cooled 350s if that's important to you.

I’m 6'1", 46 years old with a large body type, and I currently ride a Hero Honda Hunk. I want a comfortable, quiet bike with low vibration that won’t aggravate my knee pain when bending. My use is mainly city riding with occasional long rides - please suggest suitable models.
Since you've come from a Hero motorcycle, you could stay with that brand and look at the Xpulse 210, which will be peppy, comfortable and fuel efficient. If you want to look elsewhere, the Royal Enfield Classic / Bullet 350 or the Honda CB350 models make for comfortable, easy-going machines with a thumpy engine and old-school looks.

I’m looking for a bike for city commuting and touring. My daily commute will be 8-10 km, and I go on occasional weekend trips. I want a bike with good suspension for Indian roads and decent mileage. I’m planning to buy a new bike for daily office commutes in Mumbai and 1–2 rides per year within Maharashtra. I need good pillion comfort, suspension suited for Mumbai’s pothole-filled roads, and easy maneuverability in heavy traffic. The initial cost can be high, but I want low maintenance and fuel expenses. Spare parts should also be easily available. You can suggest a cruiser or adventure bike as well, if any.
Since you haven't specified your budget, recommending will be a little difficult, so we'll give you a variety of options. You should strongly consider the Classic 350/Bullet 350 from Royal Enfield, as well as any of the Honda CB350 models in the cruiser space. These bikes have lovely seating and suspension comfort and are good to ride inside the city as well as on the highway - so long as you don't go over 100kph too often.
In the adventure bike space, we would recommend the KTM 390 Adventure X or the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
Both of these have genuine highway capability, loaded up with a pillion, and can also handle daily commuting with ease. The adventure bikes will be more expensive to buy and run compared to the simpler, retro-styled cruisers, considering they are larger, more tech-laden offerings.
