Yamaha has showcased two very interesting electric two-wheeler concepts, the E-FV electric mini racebike and the ELOVE self-balancing electric scooter concept. These two concept vehicles will also be on display at the Japan Mobility Show that’s slated to be held on October 25 to November 5.

Yamaha E-FV mini racebike concept: details

If you want to become a professional racer, the only way is to start your training early. For kids learning how a clutch and gearbox works can prove to be challenging and with the E-FV electric mini racebike, you don’t have to worry about that. The E-FV also has speakers to emit sounds that ‘allow the rider to enjoy exhaust notes and the like from conventional gasoline-powered vehicles when starting it up or turning it off.’

Yamaha ELOVE self-balancing scooter concept: details

The quirky looking ELOVE concept is more conventional in intent than the E-FV and it features Yamaha’s proprietary AMSAS (Advanced Motorcycle Stability Assist System) self-balancing technology. Specifications about the battery and motor are under wraps but what can be discerned is that it rolls on large wheels, probably 14-inchers, is suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorber setup and gets disc brakes at both ends.

While it is still very much a concept, this concept could perhaps one day in the future spawn a model that does enter series production. For those of you with a keen memory, Liger Mobility had showcased its self-balancing X e-scooter prototype at Auto Expo 2023, but nothing has come of that since then.

Yamaha aims to achieve zero motorcycle-related deaths by 2050 and its primary method of going about it is with its AMSAS (Advanced Motorcycle Stability Assist System). It had earlier released more details about this system and we could see it in action when mounted to a Yamaha YZF-R3, to read more about that, tap here.

Alongside these two quirky electric two-wheeler concepts, Yamaha will also showcase the XSR125, MT-125 and YZF-R125 models as well as the 1980 YZR500 (OW70) racebike, ridden by the legendary Barry Sheene.
