Yamaha R2
The Yamaha R2 is a supersport bike manufactured entirely in India. It gets an all-new platform and a 204cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 26.5 hp. This bike sits above the Yamaha R15 in the lineup and offers slightly more power than rivals such as the KTM RC 200 and Hero Karizma XMR.
The R2 uses DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating on its valve components, a technology also used on the erstwhile Yamaha YZF-R1. Its frame is also different from the R15, with a 14kg diamond-type steel frame replacing the R15's Deltabox frame. The base variant weighs 149kg, while the middle and top variants weigh 150kg. This makes the R2 one of the lightest motorcycles in its segment, while its output gives it a strong power-to-weight ratio.
