Looking for an automatic two-wheeler for use by both me and my wife. The primary requirement is a wider tyre profile for better stability on Mumbai roads, especially on cemented roads with gaps between the concrete blocks. I am also looking for good safety features such as ABS and an effective braking system.

Since you are based in Mumbai and want a scooter with wide tyres as well as ABS to handle Mumbai's slippery and shoddily-made cement roads, the option that should be at the forefront of your shopping list is the TVS Ntorq 150. The bigger Ntorq has a 100-section tyre at the front and a 110-section hoop at the rear, which should easily be able to cope with most of the bad roads Mumbai will throw at you. Its brakes are strong and come with the safety of a single-channel ABS, which meets your requirements. While options like the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155 come with bigger 14-inch wheels and even wider tyres, these scooters are nowhere close to the Ntorq 150 when it comes to seating and ride comfort, which is a serious factor on Mumbai's bumpy roads, especially if you're going to use the scooter daily.

Take a test ride of the bigger Ntorq before you make your purchase to verify whether or not its the right fit for you.

It is also a safe car with a solid build and good crash test ratings. The rear seat is comfortable enough for three adults on short city runs, and the boot is adequate for your occasional long highway trips. In your budget, you can get the base LXi variant with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. While it misses out on fancy features, it covers all the essentials well.

I currently own a Himalayan 450 and am looking to upgrade to a twin-cylinder ADV with a refined engine and good electronics. I mainly use the bike for long rides and highway touring and am not particularly interested in off-roading. My budget is up to Rs 8 lakh. That said, both these motorcycles are not a significant upgrade over your Himalayan 450 in terms of performance and the on-road price of the NX500 E-Clutch stretches over your Rs 8 lakh budget. We suggest you wait until the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 and the Norton Atlas GT will be available in the Indian market. Take a test ride of both these motorcycles and pick which one suits you best.

Hi, I have Rs. 20 lakh in hand and want to buy an EV. However, my height is a concern, as I am 6'1" tall, so I want a car that is comfortable for my height. I drive roughly 180 km per week and around 1,000 km every month on long road trips.

At 6ft 1in, the Sierra EV is worth considering first because the cabin is genuinely spacious and the driving position should comfortably accommodate a taller driver. It also gives you the SUV stance and substantial cabin that you are looking for, while the large boot makes it better suited to your regular long trips.Your running also makes an EV a sensible choice. Around 180km a week is easily covered through home charging, while the longer 1,000km trips will require some planning around fast charging. The Sierra EV's ride is another advantage for your usage, particularly if those long journeys include uneven roads.The Kia Carens Clavis EV is the other car worth considering. It offers a very spacious cabin and greater seating flexibility, so it makes more sense if carrying family members regularly is important. I’m a first-time car buyer. My usage will be around 40% city driving and 60% on state highways, with a monthly running of approximately 800-1,000 km. The roads are somewhat okay, with some bad stretches but mostly good roads. I’m looking for an automatic transmission. Hatchbacks, compact sedans, and compact SUVs are all fine. My budget is flexible, between Rs. 12 lakh and Rs. 14 lakh. I have shortlisted 3-4 vehicles, namely: 1. Honda Amaze ZX CVT 2. Maruti Brezza ZXi Automatic 3. Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 Automatic Any other car recommendations are also welcome. I am currently posted in Varanasi, if that helps.

With 40 percent city and 60 percent highway use, the 3XO is the better fit among your three choices. Its turbo petrol engine has considerably stronger low- and mid-range performance than the Brezza and Amaze, which will be useful on state highways, particularly when carrying passengers and luggage. It also has a well-judged ride that copes well with broken roads.The Brezza ZXi AT would be the choice for easier ownership. Its petrol engine is smoother, and Maruti's service network is a significant advantage, while its ride quality is very good on poor roads. It is also the more relaxed choice if outright performance is not important.The Amaze ZX CVT is worth considering if you prefer a sedan. Its CVT is smooth, and the suspension is comfortable over rough city roads, while the large boot is useful for highway trips. However, its engine lacks the punch of the 3XO, particularly with a full load, and the cabin is narrower.The Skoda Kylaq 1.0 TSI AT is also worth adding to the shortlist if driving enjoyment is important. It has a well sorted chassis and a conventional automatic, making it particularly appealing for your highway heavy usage.
