A video posted online shows the updated TVS Raider 125 equipped with front and rear disc brakes and single-channel ABS. Since its launch in 2021, the Raider has been a strong performer for TVS, and these updates, while expected given that ABS will become mandatory from January 2026, arrive right in time for the festive season, when sales usually rise.

  1. Updated Raider 125 to have single-channel ABS
  2. No mechanical changes expected

Updated TVS Raider 125 details

Appears to be based on the mid-spec iGo variant

The Raider 125 spotted in the video features several key updates, such as the addition of a rear disc brake. For context, all current variants except the base ‘Drum’ version come with only a front disc. More importantly, the updated Raider appears to adopt a single-channel ABS system, likely borrowed from the lower-spec Apache RTR models.

TVS also seems to have revised the tyre sizes, as the bike seen was shod with 90/90-17 front and 110/80-17 rear tyres, wider units than the 80/100-17 and 100/90-17 units currently offered.

The bike in the video carries the colour LCD display from the iGO variant rather than the 5-inch TFT unit on the top-spec SX. That said, the range-topping SX will also likely receive the aforementioned updates soon.

Mechanically, the Raider is expected to continue with its 124.8cc single-cylinder engine, making 11.4hp and 11.2Nm of torque.

With the addition of single-channel ABS, the Raider 125 will join the likes of the Honda CB125 Hornet, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and Hero Xtreme 125R in offering the safety feature in this segment. However, unlike its rivals, all of which rely on a rear drum brake, the Raider will become the only 125cc bike to offer a rear disc brake.

Launch and pricing details remain unconfirmed, but given that the updated Raider has been spotted at a dealership, an official announcement will likely follow soon.
