KTM will launch the 390 Enduro R in India on April 11. The 390 Enduro R is an off-road-focused motorcycle that shares a large part of its underpinnings with the new 390 Adventure

  1. KTM 390 Enduro R will rival Kawasaki KLX230
  2. Adjustable suspension, 21/18-inch wheels standard
  3. It will be priced below the top 390 Adventure

KTM 390 Enduro R price expectations, changes for India

390 Enduro R gets adjustable suspension, 21/18-inch spoke wheels

The KTM 390 Enduro R is powered by the familiar 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, making the same 46hp and 39Nm torque as the Duke and Adventure models. The main frame and swingarm are shared with the latest-gen 390 Adventure. In line with its off-road orientation, the 390 Enduro R has a smaller 285mm front disc brake mated to the same 240mm rear brake disc as seen on the Adventure.

But for the India-spec 390 Enduro R, Bajaj has used the same suspension units as the 390 Adventure. This means you get 200mm/205mm (F/R) of suspension travel, which has resulted in an 860mm seat height, down from the towering 890mm perch of the internationally sold model. In the process, ground clearance has also gone down from 272mm to 253mm on the India-spec bike.

The rest of the bike is the same as the one sold overseas, with minimal yet purposeful bodywork, a small TFT display and a 9-litre fuel tank. At 177kg, the 390 Enduro R is 5-6kg lighter than the 390 Adventure models.

As for the price, the KTM 390 Enduro R will slot in between the 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure. At this price point, its only rival will be the lighter and less powerful Kawasaki KLX230
