Mahindra recently unveiled the Vision S concept, previewing a future sub-compact SUV that’s likely to join the Scorpio family. It will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon, but it has a lot more rugged appeal than the existing crop of sub-4m SUVs. The Vision S also gets an all-new interior design which we have not seen on any existing Mahindra. The biggest highlight is that there’s plenty of physical switchgear for ease of use, along with two large digital screens to keep up with modern needs of technology.

The dashboard has a nice, layered look and the way the funky-looking AC vents are incorporated with the screens is a cool little detail. The straps on the passenger side of dashboard will likely be skipped for the  production-spec model, but overall, the interior exudes a premium and techy feel without being an overkill on the latter aspect.

Poll of the month

What do you think about E85 fuel’s Rs 82.12/litre price in India?

Good - Rs 20/litre cheaper than E20 is a big advantage
Bad - it should have been priced even lower
Doesn’t matter - there aren’t enough E85-compatible vehicles yet
