Tata recently updated its most affordable cars, the Tiago ICE and Tiago EV, revising their exterior and interior while adding a few features. Here are all the improvements the 2026 Tiago ICE and 2026 Tiago EV offer over their outgoing models.
1. Paddleshifters with AMT
All AMT variants of the Tiago are equipped with paddleshifters

While manual and automatic transmissions for both petrol and CNG variants are not new, the 2026 Tiago is now equipped with paddleshifters. Moreover, the paddleshifters are available from the one-over-base Pure trim, which is also the most affordable trim with the automatic gearbox. The Tiago’s AMT variants also get a new rotary gear selector. Interestingly, the Tiago is the most affordable car in India with a CNG-automatic powertrain and is also the only car among its rivals to offer an AMT with CNG.
2. Improved charging times for the EV
Tata says charging speeds have now improved by up to 40 percent

With the 2026 update, the Tiago EV’s fast-charging times have improved. A 20-80 percent top-up using a 30kW DC fast charger now takes a claimed 35 minutes for both the 19.2kWh and 24kWh batteries, down from 58 minutes. The AC charging times, however, are the same as before for both the 3.3kW and 7.2kW chargers.
The claimed range increased by 3km to 226km for the 19.2kWh battery but decreased by 8km to 285km for the 24kWh unit. However, Tata is now offering a lifetime warranty on the larger battery pack only for the first registered owner of the EV.
3. 360-degree camera system
Tiago is now the most affordable car in India with this feature

Another improvement on the 2026 Tata Tiago is the new 360-degree camera setup, making it the most affordable car in India with this feature. It is offered with the one-below-top Creative trim of the 2026 Tiago ICE and the top-spec Creative+ trim of the Tiago EV. However, a rear parking camera is available from the lower Pure+ trims of both models. The 360-degree camera feed is displayed on the infotainment screen with an updated user interface (UI).
4. Improved safety
Both Tiago models get strengthened body shells and 6 airbags as standard

Apart from the 360-degree camera, the Tiago ICE and EV are equipped with 6 standard airbags, four more than the older models. Tata Motors says it has reinforced the body shells of both the ICE and EV versions by using Ultra High Strength Steel while also improving torsional rigidity for a more stable and confident driving experience. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV also gets practical safety additions such as a high-beam alert and auto demister for safer everyday driving.
5. Bluetooth-enabled driver’s display
Updated, free-standing driver’s display also gets slightly newer graphics

With the 2026 update, Tata has offered a free-standing driver’s display. It is the same unit in ICE and EV models, featuring a monochrome multi-information display (MID) in the centre and slightly newer graphics on the sides. The combustion-powered Tiago offers some Bluetooth functions, including call alerts, notifications and music playback. These Bluetooth functions are offered from its one-above-base Pure trim.
6. More convenience equipment
A front centre armrest, rear AC vents and fast phone charging ports are new

In an attempt to enhance the in-cabin experience, Tata has equipped both the ICE and EV versions of the 2026 Tiago with a new front-centre armrest with an integrated storage compartment. Rear AC vents and 65W front and rear charging ports are also new. On the combustion-powered Tiago, rear AC vents are available from the mid-spec Pure+ A trim, the 65W front charging port comes with the Pure+ trim, while the rear port is exclusive to the top-spec Creative+. On the Tiago EV, both 65W charging ports are available from the Pure+ trim, while rear AC vents are limited to Creative+.
The 2026 Tata Tiago (ICE and EV) also gets soft-touch fabric trim on the dashboard and door pads for a more premium look, which is appreciated considering their pricing.
