Powering the Hyundai Bayon is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that also does duty in the Creta. The mill produces 115hp and 144Nm, and power is sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. The latter transmission option exclusively gets Sport, Eco and Normal drive modes and a ‘Dash Boost’ mode. The claimed mileage for the CVT versions is 18.6kpl. A CNG-powered version of the Bayon will launch in January 2027. It is expected to utilise the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and feature an underbody-mounted tank.
2026 Hyundai Bayon exterior and interior colours
There are 10 colour options for the Bayon: six monotones, two dual-tones and two matte finishes. Monotone shades include Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze and Ecotronic Grey. Dual-tone schemes with a black roof are offered in Atlas White and Fiery Red, while Titanium Black and Classy Blue are available with a matte finish. Which variant of the Hyundai Bayon should you buy?
For most buyers, the higher-end HX8 trim is the one we’d recommend. For its price, it packs several feel-good features, including ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, reclining rear seats, front and side parking sensors and rear disc brakes, among other conveniences. Though the top HX10 trim has all the bells and whistles, the premium it commands over the HX8 trim below it isn’t justified. Buyers on a strict budget can consider the mid-level HX6 trim as it strikes a good balance between price and features provided. Additionally, we recommend going with the CVT gearbox as it offers a smooth and refined driving experience in the city.
