All midsize SUVs with a special edition variant

For customers looking for a vehicle with 'standout' attributes, buying a special edition version might be worth considering. These special editions not only build on the strengths of their respective standard versions but also enhance the overall ownership experience by offering unique accessories and kits, adding to the overall customer satisfaction by owning something unique. 

Some special editions bring in unique colours and cabin themes, while others come with comprehensively redesigned exteriors and feature additions. From cosmetic changes to feature additions and unique interior themes, here's every midsize SUV with a special edition sold by mass-market carmakers.

1. Hyundai Creta: Summer edition and Knight edition | Creta Electric: Knight edition

Black elements for the exterior and interior; feature editions for the summer edition

The Knight edition of the Hyundai Creta adds cosmetic changes like a black finish for exterior design elements and alloy wheels with brake calipers finished in red, along with a ‘Knight’ emblem. The all-black interiors get brass-coloured inserts, leatherette seat upholstery with brass contrast stitching, and sporty metal pedals. The edition is offered with naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines only on the S(O) and King trims. S(O) Knight editions are only offered with a manual gearbox, while the King Knight offers it with an automatic gearbox. On the Creta Electric, the Knight edition is only offered on the top Excellence trim with both the 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs. 

The Creta Summer edition does not bring cosmetic changes but adds more equipment to select trims at an additional cost of up to Rs 55,000. Depending on the trim chosen, the added features include keyless entry, all-LED headlamps, rear sunshades, a rear-view camera, a dashcam, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring and front parking sensors. Like the Knight edition, the Summer edition can be had with only naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines, paired with automatic and manual gearboxes.

2. Honda Elevate: Black edition, Signature Black edition, ADV edition

Introduces cosmetic changes and feature additions over the top ZX trim

The Honda Elevate is offered with three special editions, which include the Black edition, Signature Black edition and the ADV edition. The Black edition brings a ‘Crystal Black Pearl’ paint job on the outside, black finish for the 17-inch alloy wheels, cabin, seat upholstery, and Black edition badging on the tailgate. The Signature black edition adds ambient lighting, leatherette door pads, chrome exterior details finished in black, and a ‘Signature’ badge on the fenders. 

The ADV edition of the Elevate brings a lot of additions on the outside, which include a choice of two dual-tone paint jobs, a unique grille design, decals on the bonnet and fenders, ADV badging on the fenders and the tailgate. There's also ‘Active Orange’ accents on the grille, fog lamp housing, alloy wheels and the rear bumper. The all-black cabin gets orange accents and contrast stitching on the seats, which feature ADV logos and an illuminated panel on the dashboard. All special editions are available with the Elevate’s sole petrol engine, which can be paired with either a CVT or a manual transmission. 

3. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Phantom Blaq edition 

Introduces a matte black wrap, black alloy wheels and exterior bits

The Maruti Grand Vitara can be had in the Phantom Blaq edition that brings changes like a matte black wrap, a black finish for the 17-inch alloy wheels, and black trim pieces on the exterior, except for window surrounds and Maruti Suzuki emblems. However, the interior does not receive any changes. It can be availed at a premium of over Rs 1.03 lakh and is only offered on the top Alpha+ trim with the strong-hybrid powertrain. 

4. Tata Curvv, Curvv EV: Dark edition

Brings blacked-out exteriors and interiors for the coupe-SUV

Tata offers both the ICE and EV-powered versions of the Curvv Coupe-SUV in Dark edition guise. It brings an all-black exterior paint job, ‘DARK’ badging on the fenders, and replaces exterior chrome elements with a black finish. To complement the black exterior, the interior also adopts an all-black theme. The Dark edition is offered on the turbo-petrol and diesel-powered versions of the ICE-powered Curvv, with manual and automatic gearboxes, while the Curvv EV only gets it for the top-end Empowered+ trim with the 55kWh battery pack.

5. Mahindra BE 6: Formula E edition 

Formula E-themed SUV comes with unique looks and decals but skips some features

The Formula E edition of the Mahindra BE 6 has a distinct exterior over its standard version. It gets revised designs for the front and rear bumpers, unique LED light setups, and decals on the bonnet, windshield, and front doors. Its glass roof gets a different design compared to the standard version's roof. The interior adopts a black and orange theme, along with Formula E and FIA logos sprinkled all over. However, it skips some features like ambient lighting, Level 2 ADAS, and a head-up display, which the standard version gets. The edition is offered only with the larger 79kWh battery pack on the BE 6.
