I currently own a Wagon R VXi CNG and want to upgrade to a CNG automatic. Please suggest the best option with good mileage. I am 62 years old.

Given your age and your current ownership of a Wagon R VXI CNG, the priority should be ease of driving, reliability and low running costs. Since you specifically want a CNG automatic, the Tata Punch i-CNG AMT is the most sensible upgrade. It retains the same strengths you are used to: low running costs and a tall driving position, while adding the convenience of an automatic gearbox.

The AMT is not the smoothest automatic on the market, but it is simple, reliable and well-suited to city driving. In fact, Tata Motors is currently the only brand offering AMTs with CNG models, with the Altroz, Tiago and Tigor also available with this combination. However, given its tall seating position and ease of ingress and egress, we recommend the Punch CNG. It's feature-loaded too, and thanks to its dual-cylinder CNG storage, you don't sacrifice on boot space either.

@jvssety Go with Tata Tiago 👍 it is best affordable and also it's power weight ratio is better than punch and altroz and you would feel better performance if you don't want to stretch till nexon and nexon is turbocharged so better performance

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.2 AMT. As a first-time buyer in Noida with a Rs 5-9 lakh budget, the Wagon R is the most sensible choice. This Maruti Suzuki car is extremely easy to drive, has a tall-boy design that gives you excellent visibility and a comfortable seating position, and offers genuinely good space for a small family. The AMT is smooth enough for city use, and Maruti’s service network and low maintenance costs make ownership hassle-free. It is also one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the segment, which keeps running costs low.The Tata Tiago AMT is the better car to drive, with a more solid feel and better ride quality, but it does not match the Wagon R for ease of ownership, service reach or fuel efficiency. The Celerio AMT is also a good option, but the Wagon R’s taller cabin, more powerful 1.2-litre engine option and better rear seat space make it the more practical choice. On E20, there is no need to worry. All new cars are engineered to handle E20 fuel, and while you may see a slight drop in fuel efficiency, it will not ruin the engine. The impact is minor and not a reason to avoid buying a new car.

However, at this level of running, the fuel savings over a petrol car will take a long time to offset the higher upfront cost of the EV. If you have reliable home charging and are keen on the EV ownership experience, the Punch EV is a sensible upgrade from your ageing City. If your priority is purely financial efficiency, a small petrol automatic like the Honda Amaze or Maruti Suzuki Baleno would be the more cost-effective choice.

Go for the Kia Seltos HTK (O) IVT at Rs 18.14 lakh on-road. Your budget of Rs 19 lakh gives you enough room to get a large, spacious and well-equipped midsize SUV, and the Seltos is the sweet spot. The IVT gearbox is smooth and well-suited to Bangalore traffic, while the 1.5 petrol is refined and reliable. The HTK (O) trim is feature-rich, so you are not compromising on equipment. The Seltos also offers better rear seat space and comfort than the others, making it a better choice for occasional family trips. The Creta SX (O) might sound like better value with a few more features, but the Seltos's larger size, better quality and new-age tech push it ahead overall. The Venue HX8 turbo automatic at Rs 15.4 lakh is a good deal, but it is a segment below, and you would be compromising on space and comfort.
