•19wIs the dry-clutch gearbox used by Hyundai/Kia reliable in India, especially in city conditions with heavy traffic? And is it recommended to go for a DCT in models like the new Venue, Creta, or Seltos?

Autocar India
Theoretically speaking, a wet-clutch DCT is more durable than a dry-clutch one. DCTs got a bad name thanks to the older Volkswagen cars that threw up a lot of issues with their DCT units. However, the dry-clutch units from Hyundai/Kia are fairly reliable, with far fewer issues, so it is a safe bet to buy one. For further peace of mind, go in for the extended warranty and make sure the gearbox and its associated components are covered. Also, make sure you follow general automatic gearbox tips like never leaving the transmission in P mode without the parking brake applied, especially on a steep slope.
